Excellent

I had a great time and learned a lot. I would actually have liked to have gone to more places. Also, being able to go into some of the locations would have been wonderful. I understand that this would incure a higher cost, but I would willingly pay more. An over night would be awesome too! I believe there is a local "Ghost Hunters" type group, maybe a collaboration? Our guide was very knowledgable and very friendly, he did an excellent job, I particularly enjoyed his "acting" at the train tunnel collapse, very entertaining. My daughter and her best friend, who accompanied me on the tour, also had an excellent time. Keep up the great work!

Both educational and entertaining.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Shadows of Shockoe Walking Ghost Tour. I liked learning about the different historical sites in the Shockoe area of Richmond. It was not only educational, but very entertaining as well. I found the ghost stories quite interesting, and they added just enough creepiness to my Halloween evening. Thanks so much for such a neat experience.

Fun for history buffs and ghost lovers alike!

The ghost walk guide was terrific! She knew her ghost stories as well as her history of the buildings and area. She gave the tour with a sense of humor and kept the evening fun and exciting. The 75 minute tour was well worth the $15! Wear comfortable shoes that you don't mind getting muddy because some of the tour goes off road!

Interesting but limp

The tour was interesting but the tour guide was AWFUL. REALLY AWFUL. She was a young college kid who stammered around what she wanted to say, her story telling was AWFUL. She was a snore, her presentation was AWFUL. The tour could have been so much more fun if she had any sort of energy about it. She was just awakard and uncomfortable about it all. Which is a shame because the places that we went to were really interesting and could have been so much better.

A bit letdown

Not scary at all. Pretty lame. The chick that gave us the tour was knowledgable, but gave little else to the experience. We left glad we did nt have to hear her speak anymore. It sounded like the stories were mostly bogus. It was not worth 15 bucks to walk through the rough part of the city and hear about how maybe there was a ghost in here once. Would not recommend this to anyone I know.

Better the last time

Having previously been on the tour, I was a little disappointed with our guide. She wanted to talk more about the history of everyting rather than give the story behind each place. She also left out quite a few places/stories that were on the last tour. Overall, I felt like I was attending a lecture on the history of Richmond...not a ghost tour.

Disappointing tour
Fri, Oct 30  9:00 PM Kaseydrum Female 30-39 Local Group of Friends
Our tour guide was a thin gal with glasses. Her voice was shrill and almost comicbook-like. She didn't try to make any of the information she was giving us remotely spooky. She talked very blatantly and her tone and inflection was curt and mildly rude sounding. I was accompanied by a friend who has already been on the tour once before and loved it and she was very disappointed. She also stated we missed out on at least three additional stories while on the tour. If you keep her on board you shouldn't call this the Haunts of Richmond. Her involvement made the tour not spooky or scary. Though there was good historical info offered I could hardly listen to it as it was glossed over so fast and without much description.

Spooky night

I really enjoyed this ghost walk. It was fun seeing places that I see daily and yet in a whole new light of spooky! The guide was very funny and yet got my hair to stand on end! Especially near the bricked in train tunnel I really got freaked out almost to the point I wanted to leave, but I was on a date so I couldn't just leave him there haha Thanks so much!

Very Interesting Tour

In the Spirit of Halloween we decided to take the tour. The stories were interesting and the history of the Church Hill / Shockoe Bottom was an added attraction. The tour guide was pleasant and the length/distance of the tour was sufficient to keep it interesting.

The tour people are all very nice and efficient. The weather was nice so it was a nice walk around a few blocks in old Richmond. The storytelling was enthusiastic and at a good volume but I did not find them very interesting. The best stop was the collapsed train tunnel. It was back off of the street and a little scary. Otherwise standing outside a McDonalds and telling a vague story of a confederate soldier was the norm. If the staff had given restaurant reviews as we passed by the various businesses I would have given this tour a gold star.

UNSAFE Ghost Walk!
Sat, Oct 24  9:00 PM NancyLoya Female 50-59 Local Family Without Children
This is our first and last visit to the Shockhoe Bottom! It wasn't the ghosts from the past, but the dangers of the present that frightened us. We expected darkness, but not while walking in broken glass, over loose boards and mud holes, tall overgrown weeds, street gangs, and a four police car arrest! So glad we didn't bring children, bad enough entertaining out-of-town adult guests. Realize Richmond is rich with history, but this is a dangerous way of sharing it! Our walk, 24 Oct, 9:00 pm.

Great evening
Fri, Oct 23  7:30 PM mommyoffour Female 30-39 Local Group of Friends
The haunted tour was a lot of fun. Our guide was very knowledgable and entertaining. Everyone in my group that evening would be willing to attend another haunted tour or one of the other haunted attractions. It was a great pre-Halloween treat. I would also like to add the excellant costumer service I recieved from Zerve. Specifically Glen and Joe. I needed to get two last minute tickets and they worked very hard for me and came through. Thanks very much!!!
