We had a wonderful time. Two adults, two young teen girls. It was a stormy night, and our hostess kept an enthusiastic pace. We enjoyed the information - & suggestions for further inquiry offered by Sandy.

My boyfriend and I had a great time on this tour. Our guide was wonderful - she told great stories, kept the tour interesting and informative, and ever wore a ghostly cape! To add to the spookiness it was thundering and lightning. :) This group also has a great haunted house tour as well. Highly recommended.

An interesting and enjoyable intro to Richmond

We enjoyed some genuinely spooky tales and also found it a very interesting introduction to Richmond and parts of its history we would never have heard of otherwise.

Very informative evening

Richmond has some much history and this was another side of the actual people who lived in the area. Some had tragic deaths--cave in, fire, shootings--and others loved where they lived and are reluctant to depart.

So this was my third time on the tour, each time was different, but each time was spectacular. Each of my friends that came is now converted. When my family comes out to visit (I'm new to VA) I will make them go on the tour with me. They will love it! You guys are AWESOME!!!!!!!

Excellent

The presenter was very enthusiatic and his knowledge was excellent. The walk was long and hot, but its summertime so what can one expect. The haunted house that is available afterwards is well worth the money. I know that when I go back I will go again.

NOT WHAT I EXPECTED
Thu, Aug 2, 07   9:00 PM afrolatina Female 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
For $15 a person, I expected to learn about the darker side of Richmond and visit scary locations. Our guide was nice and friendly. A bit too much with the slapstick comedy and overzealous commmentary for this to be a ghost tour. The first stop at the tunnel was the most interesting, I would have loved to walk up and touch the tunnel and had the story told right next to it. The rest of the tour was a tad bit interesting, if you live in Richmond and frequent the spots of "ghostly" activity. Maybe our tour would have been better if it wasn't for the roar of the traffic and band playing. I could hardly hear anything that the guide was saying The constant interruption and smoking of the five drunk people who were also touring just left a bad taste in my mouth (and lungs). I was very disappointed and so was my seven year old (by the way, we both suffer from asthma). He actually said "I thought this was supposed to be a ghost tour, not a boring sightseeing tour". Wish I would have stayed home, watched Ghost Hunters on my DVR and saved $72.20 (4 admissions, ticket handling fee and tax).

Awesome!

The ghost tour lasted for 1.5 hours. The person who did the tours was enthusiastic and you could tell that the history of the City of Richmond and the ghost stories were her passion! I learned something new about downtown Richmond and will keep this attraction in mind in case I have other visitors from out of town and we are looking for something fun to do. We did the Ghost Tour and the Widow's House. My 7 year old daughter loved the ghost stories/tour, but the Widow's House was a little too scary for her.

Cool but Fascinating

It was a long walk but very good excercise (can bring drink but no alcohol). Number one story is about a train inside the tunnel....that still bothering me since that night of that tour. Other stories by different location but right in the area from the start of the tour.

Noise could wake the dead on Ghost Walk.
Sat, Jul 21, 07   9:00 PM 4Vermnt Male 40-49 Local Group of Friends
Some friends came in from out of state for a quick visit and wanted to take a ghost walk during the one night they were in town. The Shadows of Shockoe is "the only game in town." There are six stops on the tour, but only two of the stops are actually located adjacent to where the ghost story takes place (the Poe house and the site of the 1925 train cave in). This was the source of much disappointment among those in attendance. The other major problem is the noise competition. From the ambulance sirens to the medical flight helicopters to the hecklers driving by, the ghost walk leader was interrupted frequently by this noise. Because what she was saying was crucial to the success of the evening, we often had to wait several minutes for the offending noises to stop so that she could continue delivering her messages. Several participants brought digital cameras on the walking tour. As the guide discussed the presence of some ghosts in nearby buildings, participants took photos of the windows and several of those photos show what appears to be the faces of these ghosts. Thanks for your time and attention.

Pretty Good

Good information. Well organized. Would have liked to walk to the places more. Think it was focused on people who don't like to walk that far. Too bad the area isn't great now with lots of loud, obnoxious people driving around. But you can't do much about that. Overall fun and interesting.
