| I came on the Jewish walking tour recently and was truly wowed. The tour guide was welcoming from the first moment, and my girlfriend and I were amazed by the wealth of information that we picked up and by the fun that we had. We saw one of the most famous synagogues in the entire world, a memorable museum exhibition, a beautiful art gallery, and several other important locations in the community. Rabbi Kaplan also treated us to a delicious lunch. We are locals and loved it, but I also picture this tour as being a necessity for people trying to get a feel for different sides of NY, as it's definitely not the average tourist experience. In my experience, this is one of the best things to do in New York! The community also wowed me--what kind, giving, interesting people. Thank you to Rabbi Kaplan for a wonderful day. If you're considering taking the tour, then stop thinking, and just do it! | ||||||

TOUR DID NOT MATCH WHAT WAS ADVERTISED

| Perhaps because of the Passover holidays many activities that were advertised were not included. Outlets that we were supposed to visit were closed and we did not have a proper sitdown lunch. Although we had the personal attention of Rabbi Yisroel ber Kaplan who explained alot of the Chassidic way of life to us, the tour was not up to my expectation. However, I appreciate that the Rabbi waited for me because I was about 15 minutes late having taken the subway in the wrong direction to Kingston Avenue. | ||||||

| Well, even we're from Germany and could not understand all due to lack of language knowledge it was a pleasuere to be part of that tour and to get a view into chassidic life which has been a riddle to us before. We liked each part of it : the introduction with the rabbi, the visit of the mikva ( is it written like that ? ) and the bakery as well. The conclusion with the meal with Esther was also a highlight ! Nice people, we will come back one day, maybe for the German tour to understand more. | ||||||

| I found the tour very interesting indeed, I had always wanted to visit a matzo factory and this alone was amazing to see! The Rabbi (Epstein) was warm and welcoming to all, and spoke engagingly to us on arrival. He explained what we were going to do and see, and gave a good overview. It would make more commercial sense and avoid embarrassement if people taking the tour were asked for their booking number on arrival and not at the end! The lady who spoke to us at the mikveh was very personable and spoke very well, and was willing to answer any questions thrown at her. I would gladly recommend this tour to friends, family and associates visiting NY. As constructive critisicm, I would add that no assumptions as to tour participants' levels of knowledge of Judaism, Chassidic or not Chassidic, should be made at any stage of the tour. Jewish expressions and terms should be accompanied by explanations of what they mean to ensure that all the group that understands. I spent a lot of time on the tour (most enjoyable so not a complaint) answering questions from other tour participants as a result of the above. Thanks very much for a great tour and a delicious lunch, the best kosher shwarma I had whilst in NY, and definitely worth a trip back to Crown Heights again! | ||||||

| The Chassidic Tour was a wonderful experience and I highly suggest it to anyone interested in learning more about this interesting community. There is obviously not enough time to show an entire culture in 3 hours, but they did a good job of selecting some highlights. As a woman, I enjoyed speaking to the Chassidic woman who talked to us at the temple. Our tour guide was great and the community very welcoming. I highly recommend this tour! | ||||||

| My husband and I were very impressed with the Rabbi who gave us such interesting information about the Chassidic community in Brooklyn, one that is known world-wide. He was eager to answer our questions, taking as much time as needed. The synagogue, museum, silver shop, artist galleries and finally the local cafe rounded out the tour as well as the opportunity to see scrolls being restored and phylactories completed. It was a feast day so not all of the shops were open, but we did not feel like that took away from the overall tour. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone as an opportunity to see and learn about a unique group of people with very ancient roots. | ||||||

| I would highly recommend this tour. From the moment I got off the subway, I felt I was in a different world. It was very interesting being part of a somewhat "closed society". All questions were answered honestly . The matzo factory was most interesting. Our tour guide was kind, informative, and helpful. I gained a whole new respect for a group of people who are extremely devoted to their beliefs. Our tour guide took all the time needed at all our stops so I could really take in all the sights and information. It was great that we could also take pictures of everything. | ||||||

| I thought the tour was a fascintaing insight into the lifestyle of the Chassidic Jewish people. The tour guides were warm and friendly and happy to answer all questions and provide indepth explanations into the meaning behind some of their everyday practices. There is a serenity amongst the people and a contentment in crown heights that I have yet to experience in any other place or city that I have travelled. It was truly wonderful to see that the Jewish community is thriving. | ||||||

| Senior Mom and two adult children took this tour. We thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent with Rabbi Epstein who shared so much of his wisdom and experience with us to enrich our Jewish education and spiritual path. We felt more connected to our Jewish souls after this wonderful, one of a kind experience. Many thanks to the Rabbi. | ||||||
