| Answered questions that I had about the traditions and beliefs of the Jewish group. Increased understanding of the reasons for traditions and daily activities. Immersion in the local community was very helpful. The attitude of the guide was very conducive to questions. | ||||||

| This tour was recommended to me by a family member, who was extremely enthusiastic about it's content and guides. After taking the tour myself, I agree completely, and encourage anyone interested in knowing about ways of living one's religion and learning about being happy in one's life choices, to join this tour. No question to either of the guides was off limits and I felt as if the community was unselfishly sharing itself with me. Thank you. | ||||||

| We could have gone on for hours discussing all the many aspect of Chassidism. The Rabbi was open, informative, congenial. A wonderful experience I think everyone should participate in to better understand the lifestyle of the Chassidic Jews. Their devotion to G-d is truly inspiring. Thank you for the experience. I will pass it on to my friends and hope to some day return. DJG, Sayville, NY | ||||||

| This tour provided an exciting and educational view of a culture which had previously not welcomed outsiders or probing questions. I now understand the culture, its participants and the lure of the community. There are still some hard questions which remain unanswered. | ||||||

| Even though the guide was enthusiasitc and had good knowledge, the tour was limited to very few destinations. The website gives the impression that it is a 3 hour walking tour; whereas, the walking part does not exceed an hour. Also, the tour guide had a hidden agenda (i.e. make Lubavitchs look like a great group of people) and his main goal for the tour does not align with those of the visitors who would like to see Crown Heights in more detail. | ||||||

| Joining the tour, I learned a lot about the community. It is always nice to know about other people not just through reading books or searching internet but through talking face to face. It would be annoying for people that we entered to synagogue to see people praying, and at first I was a bit hesitated about doing so. But because I was guided by ones who are from the community, I could learn what exactly people were doing there, and I think it was really precious experience for me. Our guides were so sincere and at the same time friendly, which I was deeply impressed. I appreciate their efforts to introduce their way of life and philosophy to outsiders. Thank you so much. | ||||||

| The tour gave us much insight into the community. We were given an explanation on what makes this community unique, were able to watch morning prayers, a walk through the Chabad museum and headquarters, a trip to the Mikvah and a delicious lunch. Questions were patiently answered. | ||||||

| I chose the date of my tour so that I would be able to see a matzo factory but was told that it was closed on Fridays and I went on a Friday. Although I knew from the site I ordered from that the matzoh factory touring would be included from mid November through the winter, it was not stated that it would not be on Fridays. The brochure that I found at the tour site mentioned the matzo factory was included in December not mid November, a descrepancy. For this reason alone I gave the tour a generous 4 stars where it would have been 5 stars. The rabbi said he would show me the matzo factory on a separate trip and I am now considering it. I thoroughly enjoyed learning about what I saw. | ||||||

| very personal which we liked--would have liked to have seen additional parts/people of this community although, I couldn't name what I was missing. Perhaps, seeing a wider area/businesses/homes etc.or visit the Jewish Children's Museum. | ||||||

| Very interesting insight into how other families conduct their daily lives. Facinating to see what takes place inside buildings that I've passed many times without giving a thought to the ferver and zeal that others have for their faith. Long discussions with the Rabbis on diverse topics. | ||||||

| My group thoroughly enjoyed this tour of Crown Heights, especially since it was holiday time. However we are from NYC and suburbs and knew what to expect. There were people in our group who were from out of town and out of the country who did not understand what the community was about. They expected to learn about all aspects of Judaism, not realizing that this tour was one aspect of Judaism. They were confused, and really did not totally understand what they were seeing. Rabbi Beryl Epstein is funny , entertaining and very informative about the Lubavitch lifestyle. I think the description of the tour should emphasize that this is a glimpse at the lifestyle of the Lubavitch sect of Judaism. | ||||||

| I've lived in this city for 13 years and was always curious about the people with the large families, black coats, hats, and beards. After going on this tour the shroud of mystery that surrounded them has been lifted. I know there is a lot more to their lifestyle and culture than I could pick up in our 5 hour tour, but what I did learn and see was incredibly in depth and exciting, especially seeing the hive of activity and center of their culture in the synagogue. Their culture comes across as so rich and vibrant and close and connected. They have found a way of life that for those who stay in it, appears to be deeply fulfilling. Our guide was very positive and friendly and engaging and seemed to be delighted to enlighten us to the joys of their lifestyle and culture and beliefs. | ||||||

| I am a secular Jew and knew very little about the Chabad Lubavitch movement. I took this tour by myself, with 2 other couples in the group. The rabbi's that took us around and talked about the history and daily life of the community were very helpful, friendly and open to questions from all of us on the tour - Jewish and Christian. There were other members of the community we met along the way. All were extremely friendly and outgoing toward us. This really impressed me - I was very surprised at how welcome I was made to feel in the synagogue and on the street. I came away with a totally new respect for the Lubavitch movement. I have begun more research on my own and have already recommended this tour to several friends, Jews and non-Jews. | ||||||
