Florida Keys Sunset Sail on the Jolly II Rover

Well worth it, great value for the money.

The only thing that would make the cruise better is if the "crew" wore pirate hats!!

The Jolly II was a great atmosphere for a sunset cruise. My wife helped hoist the sails and I helped drive the ship. The craft was in great shape, the sailling was smooth and the staff was excellent. The owner even joined our crew and was actively mingling with the crowd. I highly recommend the Jolly II was part of your Key West experience.

....we got engaged on the cruise! Even if I hadn't decided to pop the question at sunset, this would have been a very memorable night for us, thanks to the crew of the Jolly II Rover. We had such a great time, made new friends, and thoroughly enjoyed the fun and camaraderie as we cruised out of Key West and watched a glorious sight as the Sun melted into the Gulf waters. We brought some fine ales onboard and the crew iced them down for us and made sure we were comfortably served at all times during the 2+ hour voyage. Neighboring "enemy" ships were playfully fired upon by the ship's cannons and our fellow sailors were encouraged to take the wheel and help with hoisting the sails once we cleared the harbor. The trip out on the water was smooth and relaxing, avoiding the raucous mayhem (and heat) at Mallory Square. I couldn't have found a better place to propose to the love of my life than onboard the Jolly II Rover at sunset, and with the help of the crew, got some beautiful photos with our camera to capture the moment when she said, "Yes!". We can't wait to return to Key West and sail again to celebrate our marriage and share such a treasured moment with the folks onboard the Jolly II Rover!!!

We enjoyed the sunset and the sail. We had little wind but the crew was excellent. Out on the water is the only way to really enjoy the sunset, but the crew and the boat can make a big difference, and they did!

We loved the sunset said with the jolly 2 rover. The crew was endlessly entertaining and the ship was wonderful. Other than us there were around 20 people on board (from families, to retired couples, to friends on vacation) but we didnt feel cramped at all. Its BYOB and we brought a6 pack, they were great about making sure we had a cold on in our hand. They also had coolers with ice cold bottled water for anyone who wanted it. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a change to the mallory square sunset! they also do a fabulous starlight sail too!

Sailing on the Jolly II Rover was a memorable, fun and relaxing part of our visit to Key West. When the sails filled with wind and we were gliding across the water it was both relaxing and exciting. The Captain and Crew are first rate and helped make the excursion fun and entertaining. The description of the activity was accurate but didn't capture how much fun sailing with this crew on this ship really was.

Earlier that day, I had asked, my now wife, to marry me on the beach in the Keys. I had this cruise planned the entire time as a follow up to our amazing day, and the crew of the Jolly II Rover did NOT disappoint!!! We had an amazing time, took a mountain of beautiful sunset photos, and enjoyed the entire cruise. The cannon shots were an added bonus!!! Thank you for everything, and we WILL be back again. My wife and I saw the Jolly II Rover firing off a cannon one day from the beach and our first thought was "that's the ship for us!" We love the whole pirate thing of course. But it was even greater when we found out that the J2R is one of the least expensive sunset cruise options. It was a lovely trip on a real sailboat. We were so glad we didn't take one of the loud motor-powered platform party ships that most people default to. The crew fired off the canon a couple of times and were very friendly, not loud or at all obnoxious. One even loaned out his high-powered binoculars to some of the passengers.
