Good value

We booked for $39/each thinking we wouldn't be out much if it was a tourist trap. The boat is big and impressive and the crew entertaining without being overbearing. We had a very enjoyable trip although we were under motor power for most of the time. There was just no wind. The captain was apologetic and he let out all the sails to catch whatever breeze may blow. It was very enjoyable anyway. They pointed out landmarks and planets in the sky. The boat and the crew are highly recommended.

The Best Part of Our Weeks Vacation!

Absolutely the most wonderful choice of activities! My husband, adult daughter and myself took the sunset sail while on vacation in the Keys. Of ALL the many wonderful things we saw and did while in the Keys, this was my #1 favorite! The crew is so knowledgeable and hospitable, we felt very welcomed and honered to be on board. The weather was quite cool that evening but they saw to that as well, passing out blankets to all. Thank You for the exciting and beautiful adventure!!

The other reviews pretty much sum this up. A cheaper sunset sail on a great boat with a great crew. Everyone was extremely friendly and outgoing. I got a laugh out of Captain Ron being so upset about not having any dolphins around to show his "patrons". It wasn't even promised for the tour, but it certainly bothered him nonetheless. I think to make up for this, Cap'n authorized numerous "cannon" shots much to the delight of kids and adults alike. The entire crew was quick to point out sites and facts and even went so far as to discuss the stars and planets on the beautiful sunset sail.

The boat is trully magnificent and the captain and his crew - extremely nice, sincere and funny - made us feel welcome. So many KW "attractions" leave a strange tourist trap aftertaste - not this one! We enjoyed every second of it, from quiet and romantic sailing, to firing a "small cannon", to lovely sunset. We will do it again as soon as we can!!! Thank you Jolly Rover!

Absolutely Wonderful

As a parent, grandparent and very satisfied wife, I fully recommend this voyage to anyone of any age. The other guests on this voyage varied in age from teens to young parents with small children to retirees to singles and families from Europe. The crew included everyone in all activities, shared laughter and enjoyment with all and included every age group into the adventure. Then the sun started to set and all knew that whomever their Superior being was in life that it was there with us, sharing their works of art and better life in the pictures that were as beautiful as an accomplished artist or photographer could hope to get on paper. A great job by all and wonderful experience with many names and addresses exchanged for future travels!

Great but not piratey.

I booked this trip because I have a friend who loves pirates, and I wanted some kind of pirate experience. First of all I have to say that the crew was fantastic. They were all very professional, pleasant, and informative. They even let me drive the schooner for a short time which was a blast. There is nothing wrong with the cruise itself, but it wasn't quite what I expected. We left at 630 in order to watch the sunset, but this was earlier than I would like to have left. Unfortunately it was really hot, and the sun was still burning me. I got a sunburn on my face because we were facing it for the first hour. Also there was no breeze because we were sailing on the wind, so it was difficult to cool off. I would like to sail later when the sun is closer to setting, and then retun when it's completely dark. That way I could see the stars too. The crowd wasn't what I expected either. Most of them were older, and I kind of expected younger people who would want a pirate experience. I would thoroughly enjoy something theatrical such as costumes and a performance, but I understand this is probably too much. There was a cannon fired at the end, but other than that, and the pirate flag, there wasn't anything piratey about it. The description says a "hint of piracy." This is very true. It's a very subtle hint. So don't go for the pirate experience. Go for the beautiful sunset, the fantastic crew, and the experience of sailing on the wind.

We booked the sunset sail on our last day in Key West. I wasn't expecting it to be as relaxing and wonderful as it was. It was a truly wonderful experience and something everyone should do. The captain and the crew were fantastic! They were very knowledgeable, courteous and all around great.

I would recommend The Jolly II Rover to any one who likes to be on the water and not listen to a motor running all the time. The crew was wonderful as well. It is a nice boat. We had a great time. If we get back down there we will do it again.

Very nice evening sail. The best choice to enjoy the water and Key West scenery. The party boats passed us and we were so glad not to be on them!

We were visiting Key West with our 14 year old granddaughter and wanted an enjoyable, family-friendly sunset cruise. The Jolly II Rover was it. We had a delightful 2-hour sail in an environment that was quite comfortable for our granddaughter. Crew was competent and friendly. A very pleasant experience.
