Great sightseeing tour
Sat, Feb 24, 07   9:00 AM Fayehamilton Female 40-49 International Tourist(s) Group of Friends
I took my staff (5) to New York as a "thank you" for their hard work. None of them had been before so I wanted to include a sightseeing trip, but we didn't fancy being part of a busload of 50 people. Marvelous Manhattan was ideal. There were 13 on the tour which was a great size. Steve, our guide, was FANTASTIC. Very enthusiastic, very funny and very interesting. When I booked, I thought a full day tour might be a bit long, however he kept it interesting all day and the time flew by. We learnt a lot about this great city and feel that we know it from top to bottom now. We would highly recommend Marvelous Manhattan tours. They really are great!!

Outstanding day out with people who became friends

It was a bitterly cold day and there were 10 of us on the Tour from different parts of USA and UK . Steve made it clear from outset he wished the day to be interactive and it really was . Steve was a cross between a teacher and a stand up comic and because of this the group gelled immediately . We wre able to learn things and see things we would never have seen on our own and being such an intimate small group everything was personalised . I would not hesitate in recommending this tour to anyone ( individual, pairs or groups) it has set the Standards that I will judge all other Tours by . p.s. Just make sure Steve doesn't lock the van keys inside the van .

Excellent Tour

What makes this tour excellent are two things: 1. Steve - the tour guide really knows and loves the city and provides great history 2. Small group size - the small bus and thus the small group really makes the tour more intimate. Steve calls everybody by name and we all had a great time. I would definately recommend this tour and would not hesitate to take my children on it next time we are in the city.

Tour guide Steve makes our day ...
Sun, Jan 14, 07   9:00 AM jshurie Male 30-39 International Tourist(s) Family Without Children
Steve set the scene for the day with a warm greeting for the 3 couples and a single on our bus. Everybody was soon on first name terms and we had a great time discovering the real New York - the people as well as the sites. All the main sites were covered with frequent opportunities to get off the bus and walk round the sites/ take photos - the guide was informative and we gained a good perspective as to the history and current 'what is happening' view of NY - we were encouraged to ask questions along the route and had the opportunity to be flexible if more time was wanted at a site. All I can say that is that we a great day - the 6 hours flew by - I would recommend this as very good value for money compared to larger bus tours where you only listen to a commentary and cannot interact with your guide. Well done Steve!

This was a fantastic start to our stay in New York; we would highly recommend it especially to anyone visiting NY for the first time, as we were. We saw so much in the time and were able to decide which places to revisit in the limited time we had. Steve was an excellent, humorous and very enthusiastic guide - a great ambassador for the city. We loved every minute of the tour - it really lived up to our expectations and was very good value for money. Fond memories from the folk from the "Fatherland" - as Steve kept calling us!!

The "provider" was on time and very pleasant. Had a definite "flair" for the City. He was very informative and enthusiastic about his delivery. We enjoyed our visit and would highly reccommend other travelers to do the same,

Our tour guide (Steve) was very knowledgeable. He was quite humerous, and held our interest by involving the entire group. We saw quite alot of the city and had the right amount of stops. The bus we were travelling in was very comfortable. Once again a great job. We will not hesitate to recommend this tour to our friends and family.

Extremely entertaining and informative experience

We were hoping that this tour would form a solid foundation for our learning about New York and its people; and that is exactly what we got. We were a little concerned that a day of listening to our guide could become a bit wearing at some stage, but we needn't have been concerned because Stephen is a master communicator who could teach a few useful tricks to teachers in schools who complain that their students do not learn; Stephen obviously knows that it's no good giving information unless it is enjoyable, varied in its content and delivery, and pitched in ways that suit the different personalities that make up his audience. Having said the above, if the information had no added value over and above what is generally known, then the whole experience would have been merely enjoyable but not exceptional. However Stephen seems to have a rare insight into quite a few subtle nuances which we feel gave us an exceptional insight about this extraordinary city. Probably, for us, the most impressive thing about Stephen is that he appears to really care that his audience learns about the real New York. We had alot of fun, alot of learning, and are still amazed at the fact that he could hold our attention throughout the whole day. He made an extra effort to ensure that his customers were comfortable with the content of the tour.

A first-class eye-opener to a fascinating city

An excellent tour in a very comfortable coach with a marvellously informative host whose outgoing personality, sense of humour and philisophical meanderings(!) were a major factor in our enjoyment of it. We took the tour at the beginning of our holiday because we wished to see as much of the city as possible and learn about its history, its people and its many places of interest and, thanks to our host, we were not disappointed in this respect. It was a most enjoyable day and was a brilliant starter to our stay in New York. We chose your Company on the strength of a personal recommendation and would be happy to make a similar recommendation ourselves. May you continue to reign supreme as "King" for a long time to come!! Very many thanks.

Entertaining and Informative way to see Manhattan
Sat, Jun 10, 06   9:15 AM FionaMP Female 30-39 International Tourist(s) Family Without Children
From start to finish of this tour, we were educated, informed and at the same time, entertained. Steve reminded us of Jim Carrey, but with a wealth of information on NYC at his fingertips. We covered most of the main sites on Manhattan Island and had a great lunch stop at Katz's Deli ( of "When Harry Met Sally" fame). From the moment Steve greeted me by name until we said goodbye, this was probably the best tour of this sort I have been on- in ANY city. From being first time visitors to the city, I now know the difference between a neighbourhood and a district, why the fence around Bowling Green is uneven, where to look for the "dirty patch" in Grand Central and which president took his oath on Wall Street. By the end of the tour, I felt I was beginning to have a real feel for Manhattan. Highly Recommended
