This was my second visit to NYC and my second time to take the Marvelous Manhattan Tour. The tour guides are personable, knowledable, friendly, and fun. The tour is an excellent way get familiarized with the island and I highly recommend it. The group was small; the bus is comfortable; the tour is well organized and informative My adult son accompanied me and this was his first trip to NYC. He said it was the highlight of his visit.

Small group so we all knew each other's name in no time. The tour guide was great fun, giving lots of extra facts and figures. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour.

This tour was quite entertaining and we learned a lot, as we had never been to New York before. Learned a lot about the history, and now the locations on Law and Order actually make sense. However, we took the tour on a day where there were only 4 people (2 young couples), so Stephen was the driver and the guide. I can't help but think that it would have been better if he had been able to leave the van, which he was not able to do very often. For example, we were sorta dumped at Grand Central Station and told to be back in 10 minutes. I think it probably would have been nice to have Stephen actually go inside with us to tell us a little more about the history and the restoration. Nothing wrong with the way it was done, but I can't help but think that it must be better when the group is a little bigger, thus justifying both a driver and a narrator, and allowing Stephen to focus on the talking. While Stephen was a fine guide when talking about the buildings, the history, the locales, etc, he seemed to be a little bit of a loose cannon when he "went off script." At one point when the five of us were waiting to cross a street, Stephen told the only other people on the tour (with me and my husband standing next to them) how they are both beautiful and will have lovely children. We waited, but nothing was said to me and my husband, and we are roughly the same age. I was furious (not so much that he said it, as the other couple was quite fetching, but that he didn't have the courtesy to wait until my husband and I wandered off) and wanted to grab a cab and leave. Luckily, my husband talked me out of it. Ultimately, I was happy that we stayed, as we learned quite a bit, but the ire and embarrassment that I felt at that moment is unforgettable, especially coming from someone in a service industry. Along those lines, I felt Stephen's commentary at the former site of the World Trade Center to be a bit pedantic, biased, and unneeded. It made me rather uncomforable, and I can only imagine what an international visitor might think of his comments. In the end, I found the tour to be informative and well-designed, and would recommend it (with a grain of salt) to my family and friends.

This was our first time in New York and the Royal Tour was ideal we saw all the main attractions with 15 mins to look around on each event plus take photos there is so much to see in New York you can not do it all on your first trip so this tour was amazing Stephen had a wealth of knowledge so helpful with a very happy personality and the people we met on the tour bus were so nice, we also stopped for 45 mins for lunch at Katz restaurant which was really great don't order to much food the portions were so big. I can thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone young or old you will have a fabulous time. Thank you so much Carol & Tony

What a delight it was for my daughter and myself to experience Manhattan in a day this past Friday, March 6th. Steve, the best tour guide, made our day. We want to bring our husbands back and take the same tour again. He was not only entertaining but provided quite an array of historical background to all the sites . After our tour we felt confident in navigating the Metro and going to the different districts it took us to. I'd recommend it to anyone who visits this beautiful city. Thanks again Steve for your accommodating spirit.

After you have spent the day with Steve, you will know New York. If you want a real insider's view, take this trip. Go early in your stay because this tour will clarify what else you might like to do. Many stops, almost every area touched from Downtown to Harlem. Just be sure to laugh at Steve's jokes so his feelings won't be hurt. Steve loves New York and after 7 1/2 hours in a van with Steve, we loved it, too!

This tour is a good introduction to the city. It helps you get your bearings and gives you the opportunity to decide what is of interest to you. Then you can go back and explore these areas in depth. Our guide, Steve, gave good advice so we could get to Ellis Island on our own. The deli stop for lunch was great! We were thankful for Steve's information beforehand on how the tickets and lines worked. We followed his suggestions on what to order and had a great lunch and experience. The morning went very quickly.
