My wife Mona and I took our tour on May 18th, 2007. We were met on time by Steve our tour guide. The tour lasted nearly all day and we saw all of the most interesting highlights of NYC. Steve was well versed, interesting and very well informed. Steve actually made the tour as successful as we both considered it to be. We highly recommend this tour for anyone who is interested in a visually comprehensive, articulate and historical narrative of The Big Apple. Jerry & Mona Cohen Milwaukee Wisconsin

I really enjoyed our tour with Steve. He had a lot of good information about the area and buildings. I only wish that we would have had more photo opportunities. It was hard to take photo from the van that was moving. I have recommended this tour to my neighbor that will be visiting New York the week of Monday March 19.

Entertaining, but...

This tour was quite entertaining and we learned a lot, as we had never been to New York before. Learned a lot about the history, and now the locations on Law and Order actually make sense. However, we took the tour on a day where there were only 4 people (2 young couples), so Stephen was the driver and the guide. I can't help but think that it would have been better if he had been able to leave the van, which he was not able to do very often. For example, we were sorta dumped at Grand Central Station and told to be back in 10 minutes. I think it probably would have been nice to have Stephen actually go inside with us to tell us a little more about the history and the restoration. Nothing wrong with the way it was done, but I can't help but think that it must be better when the group is a little bigger, thus justifying both a driver and a narrator, and allowing Stephen to focus on the talking. While Stephen was a fine guide when talking about the buildings, the history, the locales, etc, he seemed to be a little bit of a loose cannon when he "went off script." At one point when the five of us were waiting to cross a street, Stephen told the only other people on the tour (with me and my husband standing next to them) how they are both beautiful and will have lovely children. We waited, but nothing was said to me and my husband, and we are roughly the same age. I was furious (not so much that he said it, as the other couple was quite fetching, but that he didn't have the courtesy to wait until my husband and I wandered off) and wanted to grab a cab and leave. Luckily, my husband talked me out of it. Ultimately, I was happy that we stayed, as we learned quite a bit, but the ire and embarrassment that I felt at that moment is unforgettable, especially coming from someone in a service industry. Along those lines, I felt Stephen's commentary at the former site of the World Trade Center to be a bit pedantic, biased, and unneeded. It made me rather uncomforable, and I can only imagine what an international visitor might think of his comments. In the end, I found the tour to be informative and well-designed, and would recommend it (with a grain of salt) to my family and friends.

Steve, the tour guide was extremely personable and knowledgeable. I will recommend anyone who takes this tour to ask for Steve. He made the city come alive for us and I believe I can find my way anywhere, thanks to him. To take a tour with any one else is a great loss. It was well worth the money.

Steve is terrific: He doesn't bore you with a ceaseless flow of trivia but rather informs you and shows you a fantastic slice of NYC. It is really obvious that he is a committed NYer who gets a kick out of his product. There are MANY guides in this city. I am one of them. There are a number of good guides in the city but a vastly greater number of awful ones. Steve is a VERY good guide. Highly recommended

As a native New Yorker enjoying the tour with family from out of town I found the tour to be highly informative. I was made aware of so many interesting facts related to the history of New York which I had never known and certainly would consider another tour if the opportunity presented.

the tour was the best ever. It was knowledgable and our tour guide Steve was well informed and he was an excellent tour guide. I wished that we had taken the tour in the beginning of vacation instead of the end so much to see we would have liked to go back over some of the interesting points that Steve pointed out. We stopped to take pictures and we were given enough time to reflect everything that Steve was telling us. I would give the tour a five star.

I am a native New Yorker who decided to take a tour so I could get a different perspective of the city in which I have lived all my life, and I absolutely loved my tour with Marvelous Manhattan Tours, led by the knowlegable and hilarious "King of New York" Steven who kept us laughing the whole time when he wasn't filling us in on the history of the sights. Furthermore the vehicle in which we rode was clean, comfortable and luxurious. You get more than a tour with Marvelous Manhattan. You get a lesson on how to navigate the streets, neighborhoods and people of this complex and exciting metropolis. This is the best there is.
