| We first took this tour about 8 -10 years ago, on our first trip since 1970 (when we hated NYC.) We took the tour on the recomendation of a concierge and absolutely loved it! Since then, I have sent a number of friends on it and they, too, loved it, so we decided to take it again. Steve has such a wealth of information about NYC, its history, and really seems to love the city. He communicates that love really well and helped us to understand the city much better.
One member of our group was a relative who lives in NYC and she intends to take her out-of-town visitors on the tour so they can experience it, too.
My only problem is that Steve doesn't "pitch" his program enough -- he should give everyone a business card and encourage them to send their friends. Everyone who goes to NYC should go on this tour!

| Steven is a showman with a lot of information. The time spent with him was energetic and enlightening. He added great insight into stone buildings and neighborhoods, not just regurgitaing facts. He made you feel the heart of the city. |

| We thoughly enjoyed out tour. We were looking to see as much of NY as we could thats why we picked this trip. I would like to have had more time at a few places. I didn't enjoy the Katzs deli. I didn't like the no refund policy. We had one person who couldn't make it at the last minute. |

| An excellent tour in a very comfortable coach with a marvellously informative host whose outgoing personality, sense of humour and philisophical meanderings(!) were a major factor in our enjoyment of it. We took the tour at the beginning of our holiday because we wished to see as much of the city as possible and learn about its history, its people and its many places of interest and, thanks to our host, we were not disappointed in this respect. It was a most enjoyable day and was a brilliant starter to our stay in New York. We chose your Company on the strength of a personal recommendation and would be happy to make a similar recommendation ourselves. May you continue to reign supreme as "King" for a long time to come!!
Very many thanks. |

| This tour was quite entertaining and we learned a lot, as we had never been to New York before. Learned a lot about the history, and now the locations on Law and Order actually make sense. However, we took the tour on a day where there were only 4 people (2 young couples), so Stephen was the driver and the guide. I can't help but think that it would have been better if he had been able to leave the van, which he was not able to do very often. For example, we were sorta dumped at Grand Central Station and told to be back in 10 minutes. I think it probably would have been nice to have Stephen actually go inside with us to tell us a little more about the history and the restoration. Nothing wrong with the way it was done, but I can't help but think that it must be better when the group is a little bigger, thus justifying both a driver and a narrator, and allowing Stephen to focus on the talking.
While Stephen was a fine guide when talking about the buildings, the history, the locales, etc, he seemed to be a little bit of a loose cannon when he "went off script." At one point when the five of us were waiting to cross a street, Stephen told the only other people on the tour (with me and my husband standing next to them) how they are both beautiful and will have lovely children. We waited, but nothing was said to me and my husband, and we are roughly the same age. I was furious (not so much that he said it, as the other couple was quite fetching, but that he didn't have the courtesy to wait until my husband and I wandered off) and wanted to grab a cab and leave. Luckily, my husband talked me out of it. Ultimately, I was happy that we stayed, as we learned quite a bit, but the ire and embarrassment that I felt at that moment is unforgettable, especially coming from someone in a service industry.
Along those lines, I felt Stephen's commentary at the former site of the World Trade Center to be a bit pedantic, biased, and unneeded. It made me rather uncomforable, and I can only imagine what an international visitor might think of his comments.
In the end, I found the tour to be informative and well-designed, and would recommend it (with a grain of salt) to my family and friends. |

| We so thoroughly enjoyed our first tour that we scheduled a second tour for our sons benefit and our enjoyment. The humor and candid remarks by the King make this trip a must for those wanting to not only learn the city but to experience it. Stephen Duer does a Marvelous job !! |

| We found & selected this tour by searching the enternet for personal tours of NYC. Their home page was informative and easy to understand. Our tour was on Aug 29th and with a small group, having Stephen Duer as our guide.
The tour was fantastic. Stephen provided enormous amounts of information about His city. He is proud of NYC and you can truly pick up on his home town experience.
The tour lasted approximately 6 hours having photo time, walking time and eating lunch at a true historic NYC deli, "Katz". I will recommend this tour to all of my friends as I believe it to be well worth the charge of approximately $100. per person. |

| Touring with the King of New York (Steve) is like traveling with an old friend who is showing you around his hometown. You travel on a small bus so your tour group is quite small (no larger than 26 people I believe).
Steve shows you the real New York and tells you the history of that lovely city. This isn't one of those generic tours where you're craning your neck trying to see the site the tour guide is describing as your bus passes it, and where you're herded on and off the bus at the tourist stops.
While in New York in August of 2006, we also took the NYC Party Tour, and it was one of those hectic drive past as many sites as possible tours. We didn't bother with the Hop on and Hop Off tour based on the bored looks we noticed on the faces of that tour's passengers.
If you are interested in learning about New York City as well as seeing the sites, then I recommed that you take the Marvelous Manhattan Tour with the King of New York. He costs a little more, but the extra expense is well worth it. |

| My boys and I have traveled extensively and always search for a tip top tour of each destination prior to venturing out on our own. This tour is by far the best I have ever had in any city, domestic or abroad. I have been visiting NYC for many years and each time I bring someone along that has not been to NYC, I take them on this tour. I have been on this tour 5 times in a period of 10 years. Each time Steven makes it a joy. If you really want to learn about NYC, be entertained, and have a true first class guide, this is the only route to take. I wouldn't even bother with another tour of NYC unless I could take Steven's. I wish he could franchise out his expertise to other major cities! EXCELLENT
