Great sightseeing tour

I took my staff (5) to New York as a "thank you" for their hard work. None of them had been before so I wanted to include a sightseeing trip, but we didn't fancy being part of a busload of 50 people. Marvelous Manhattan was ideal. There were 13 on the tour which was a great size. Steve, our guide, was FANTASTIC. Very enthusiastic, very funny and very interesting. When I booked, I thought a full day tour might be a bit long, however he kept it interesting all day and the time flew by. We learnt a lot about this great city and feel that we know it from top to bottom now. We would highly recommend Marvelous Manhattan tours. They really are great!!

We really enjoyed the history of the city and the knowledgeable guide. I plan on returning with other members of my family for the same tour.

Swanky, Totally Swanky!

Swanky is my new favorite "New York" term I learned from Stephen. He was so marvelous, we wanted to keep him for the whole trip!! We invited him to join us for the evening with his wife, but he had to take down the Christmas decorations instead. Oh well, mabey next time! But yah, really. If you don't book this guy for a tour of NYC, you'll be really missing out on a GREAT opportunity to totally understand and appreciate this wonderful "swanky" little town!! Hope you do the right thing and book it!! Hey Stephen, do you still want me to send you those pictures I took on the tour? Just shoot me an e-mail, and you'll get them. Thanks a million, Kristin and Greg from the land of 10,000 lakes!!!

Met and then exceeded our expectations!

My wife and I (Steve: We were the newlyweds - who were pregnant - from California. Julienne and Carl) went on the tour on Thursday 12/28/06. Our In-laws had told us about this tour as they took it 2.5 years ago, they loved it - specifically they bragged about Steve. Our fun started when we were early to the pick up point. Steve met us at the bus and joked with us about being early so we went over to a bakery and grabbed a quick bite. We showed back up to the bus (5 minutes before we were scheduled to leave) and he joked that we were now late. We loved the way quickly got to know each of us and made a great effort to remember each of or names. Steve was just fantastic. Forst and foremost he loves NYC..it shows!! He knows NYC and it was just so informative. The perfect blend of going to the big sites and then being able to walk around and "touch and feel" them was perfect. How George drove around I have no idea. But we loved avery momentof the tour. We expected a good time but we had a top ten experience that we will not forget. It was truly one of the highlights of our week long stay. The best compliment we can give Steve is that we hit the subways, walked around SoHo, Canal Street, Uptown, Downtown, Midtown, and soaked in all of the magic. The only downside is the poor guy was getting called on his cell phone like he was working on the Stock exchange trading floor. His sense of humor and passion for the city made that tour the best that there is. Honestly, I don't know what the tour would be without Steve, I don't think it could exist without him. If there is ever another tour say of Brooklyn/Bronx (maybe not gettng out to walk around - hahha) we would come to New York just to go on it - but only if Steve is giving the tour! Also, we were so impacted about the point he made about 9/11. How it was a horrific tragedy just terrible..but it was a miracle that only the number who were killed happened instead of the over 60K+ that worked in that building. Very true, unreported, and was an excellent point. It was awesome!! It you had a rating higher then five stars we would give it. Thank you - Steve (and his wife...he went on and on how great she is...yadda, yadda, hahha) Carl and Julienne Erickson

This Tour Delivers!

A tour guide can make or break a tour. The guide for Marvelous Manhattan Tours has been doing this for more than 15 years and has everything timed perfectly and knows Manhattan inside and out. He's witty, entertaining, and includes many interesting facts that make you sit up and take notice. From walking around the theatre district and strolling through Central Park to eating a pastrami sandwich at Katz's...I had a blast!

I really enjoyed this very thorough tour of uptown and downtown. The day went by so fast! Stephen was a great speaker with a lot of knowledge about his city. I loved that we stopped for lunch at Katz's Deli! I would recommend this tour to anyone.

If you only have a short time in NYC, this is a must! Steve has been guiding tours for 18 years and it shows. I've been on tours in other cities - mostly in Europe and this is the best by far. I've been to NYC several times, but went this time with someone who had never been. I thought I'd be bored on the tour, but found it so interesting and fun. I learned a lot and saw plenty of new sites.

Marvelous Manhattan Tours is worth it!

We chose to do the Royal Tour and learned so much more about the City than we ever knew we needed to know! It was extremely informative, interesting, and puts things in perspective. Stephen is a walking history book and his love for the City shines! His buses are so much nicer and more comfortable than are the other over-crowded tour buses. We appreciated getting to see so many things we would not have been able to do ourselves since we had only a few days there. This is a great intro to the City; then you can choose to go back for longer visits at each of your favorite places since there's not enough time on the tour to stop at each place. It's also extremely courteous that we were called by our names all day. My family and I highly recommend this tour.
