Tour of New York City.
Tue, Jun 23  9:00 AM Mburcham Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
We were taken to a number of areas in the city that I have heard of many times. What I enjoyed most of all was all the information on each area. There were facts given to us that I had no idea about. It was very interesting. I'm glad we had the opportunity to take such a good tour.

Excellent All-round Tour
Sat, May 23  9:00 AM KBurchell Female 60-69 International Tourist(s) Family With Children
This tour covered a lot of ground in its 7 hours, including a stop for lunch at the famous Katz's Deli. Got off the bus several times for photo shoots and to stretch. The tour guide was very entertaining and knowledgeable. His love of NYC came through in his tour, and his breadth of knowledge was apparent. He knew everyone's names from the start, which made everyone feel very much at home. We especially enjoyed the tour through St. Paul's Chapel and the great view of Ground Zero, not to mention all the info regarding the future of this site. He was very adept at manoeuvring the bus through the NYC traffic, never missing a beat in his narration. He was humorous, thorough and good-natured. After the tour, we felt we had learned a lot about NYC and knew where we wanted to return to spend more time. Thanks to the guide, we were very comfortable getting around the streets and avenues. Thanks for a great tour!

Good locations, poor guide

Good trip in that it covered large number of main sights of Manhattan. However we did not enjoy the trip due to the personality, manner and lack of interpersonal skills of guide/driver. He never introduced himself by name. Unnervingly he frequently had both hands off the wheel whilst the vehicle was moving forward, one hand on the microphone, one waving in the air and head turned to one side to address us. He preached/talked at us rather than to us, in long monologues, in an unnecessarily loud voice. He had an overbearing manner and made derogatory remarks about us being boring and useless. He insisted on giving us protracted accounts of his opinions, biased rather than balanced, eg that we should be moving on from the events of ground Zero and after all only 2,000= were actually killed there. He made no effort to coordinate what was a very small group. The notice at the front of the bus "Gratuities Welcome" was inappropriate. We did not heed this as we did not feel he deserved any.

Third time with Marvelous Manhattan
Fri, Mar 27  9:00 AM bigguy1 Male 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
This is our third tour with Steve. The first time with another couple. We liked it so much that when we organized a trip of 20 friends to go to NYC we thought this the perfect way to intoduce them to the city. They still talk about it. This third tour was with my family. There were 9 of us. This included 6 adults and three grandchildren ages from 12 to 15. All greatly enjoyed the trip. Obviously if you take something three times and all who go with you rave about the tour it is something you want to also recommend to others,

I don't normally do tours, I read up on the subject and do it myself. But now I'm an old boy with less time than I want, I thought I'd get as many boxes ticked as quickly as possible. Steve ticked them for me, and many more besides! Knowledgeable, informative, witty, a cool driver, well organised and a good listener, which these guys often aren't. We bounced stuff to and fro, and I hope I wasn't a royal pain in the ass, but it seemed to work okay. As he said, I was an extrovert and couldn't stop myself, so let it roll. Steve is definitely on my recommend list. Great tour!

What a way to start a short break in New York. Steve was an absolute gem !! very knowledgeable and humorous, kept us interested and amused all day. It was our 40th anniversary and Steve and our fellow travellers made it a day for us to remember. I cannot rate this too highly. Thanks Steve for a tremendous day out. Dennis & Janet (England)

MARVELOUS OUR GUIDE WAS OUTSTANDING
Wed, Dec 24, 08   9:00 AM rice541 Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
MY HUSBAND AND I WENT ON TWO TOURS, CHRISTMAS LIGHT TOUR ON THE EVENING OF THE 23RD. THERE WERE ONLY 4 OF US, MY HUSBAND AND I AND A YOUNG COUPLE FROM AUSTRALIA. THE EVENING TOUR WAS BOOKED DIRECTLY WITH MARVELOUS MANHATTAN TOURS. OUR GUIDE (I AM SORRY I CANNOT REMEMBER HIS NAME BUT YOU MUST HAVE A RECORD OF WHO IT WAS) WAS OUTSTANDING. HIS KNOWLEDGE OF THE CITY IS UNBELIEVABLE AND HE KNOCKED HIMSELF OUT TO MAKE SURE WE SAW EVERY SINGLE DECORATION HE COULD SQUEEZE INTO 3 HOURS. WE HAD THE SAME GUIDE ON THE 24TH AND AGAIN HE WAS OUTSTANDING. JUST CANNOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT HIM, HE WAS WARM, KIND AND VERY PATIENT AS THERE WERE FOUR KIDS ON THE CITY TOUR ON THE 24TH. IN ADDITION TO MY HUSBAND AND I ON THE 24TH THERE WERE 3 OTHER ADULTS AND 4 KIDS. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND MARVELOUS MANHATTAN TOURS AND WOULD MOST CERTAINLY USE THEM AGAIN. PLEASE MAKE SURE THE GUIDES BOSS KNOWS WHAT A WONDERFUL JOB HE IS DOING OUT THERE.

One trip does it all

My husband had never seen NYC so we joined this tour and were very pleased with the pace and the personal touch. We loved the introduction of NY terms and the background info on various sites. We felt like we had an excellent overview of the city and we easily went back to visit special places on our own.

Friendly and very informative. This was our second trip to New York. I got to know New York in one day compared to two days from the last time. I felt like having my own chauffeur. The only thing I recommend is Steve have a portable microphone so you don't need to lose your voice as much. I made copies from the internet to share with my friends and their friends. Keep up the good work.

This tour is a good introduction to the city. It helps you get your bearings and gives you the opportunity to decide what is of interest to you. Then you can go back and explore these areas in depth. Our guide, Steve, gave good advice so we could get to Ellis Island on our own. The deli stop for lunch was great! We were thankful for Steve's information beforehand on how the tickets and lines worked. We followed his suggestions on what to order and had a great lunch and experience. The morning went very quickly.
