| My wife and I were fortunate enough to have selected the absolute BEST tour company in New York City with the owner, Steve, as our tour director on that day. One thing in particular that impressed us was that Steve took the time to "teach" us about the city. This was my first visit and my wife had not been there in many years. We were taught how the city was laid out in districts, neighborhoods, etc. We took the Royal tour which I absolutely recommend for a first time visitor but also for those who may have visited before but still do not understand how the city works. Steve talked with us about the little church across from Ground Zero which we never heard anything about in the news. He explained how the city was one of the safest in the world now. And, I agree. After the tour my wife and I felt so much more comfortable and knowledgeable about New York City. We really felt safe. Police officers are everywhere, in cars, on foot and on horseback. We felt as though we were given "tender loving care" by Steve, "The King of New York". He stayed with us and was very prompt if he dropped us off so that we could have lunch or visit a particular site. We truely felt cared for. We live outside of Charlotte, NC which is a pretty big town certainly very small in comparison to NYC. And, as a "young Senior Citizen" it is important to be confident in those providing the services. My wife and I will look forward to recommending "Marvelous Manhattan Tours" to anyone planning a trip there. This was a wonderful, wonderful experience. We are most grateful to Steve for giving us a day filled with unforgettable memories! Season's Greetings Jerry and Betty Stafford | ||||||

| After researching and doing a lot of reading I booked a "Marvelous Manhattan Tour" and I was THRILLED with it! Steve is a great guide and I can't recommend him highly enough. We did the morning 1/2 day tour of midtown and downtown. The main thing I wanted to get out of the tour was an "understanding of the city." I've been there 4 times previously so I have visited and moved around. However, after touring with Steve I finally feel like "I get it!" We stopped at Sardi's, Little Italy for cappucino, Ground Zero, and even a hidden speakeasy from "back in the day" in Greenwich Village. Definitely off the beaten path and more than what we would have gotten on a standardized tour for the masses. While we were out we cruised past the long lines of people waiting in Times Square for the Grey Line double-decker bus with their tape recorded ramblings. We also saw the New York Party Shuttle whiz by us as we were taking our time in SoHo and Steve was explaining how the neighborhood was saved while he pointed out the cast iron structures that make it so unique. Those things just further reinforced what I already knew: I had chosen the best tour in town! The other folks we met on our tour agreed and said the very same thing. We all had choices and we all knew we had made the best choice, period. Our Marvelous Manhattan Tour was one of the highlights of our trip. Worth EVERY penny we spent. I will definitely go on a tour with him again when we go back. If you are in doubt as to what to do I strongly suggest going this route! It was really something special and made our trip much more memorable. | ||||||

| My husband and I really enjoyed this tour. The guide was informative and very interactive. He taught us a ton about the city of New York. We took the full day tour, and would recommend for guests in the future to take the half day tour, as those taking the half day tour were dropped off about 1hr before us, at about 2:30pm. The only thing you would miss on the half day tour was a drive through Harlem. | ||||||

| The small size of the group made the day very enjoyable. Steve, our guide, and George, our driver were suberb. This was our first non business trip to NYC and we wanted to spend time walking through the neighborhoods and the tour helped us to understand the naming conventions of the neighborhoods - and gave us confidence to wander the streets of NYC. We learned much about the history of Manhattan and planned our remaining time in Manhattan based upon what we learned on the tour. My husband and I recommend this format versus the impersonal big bus tours of the city. The lunch stop had the best pastrami we're ever eaten. Enjoy!. | ||||||

| I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE KNOWLEDGE AND ENTHUSIASM OF OUR TOUR LEADER STEVE. IMMEDIATELY HE EXPRESSED A SINCERE INTEREST IN ALL OF US AND OUR NAMES AND ORIGINS. THIS TOUR IS AN AWESOME OVERVIEW OF THIS ELECTRIC CITY. WE WERE INTRODUCED TO SO MANY ASPECTS OF NEW YORK CITY, FROM THE INFAMOUS SUCH AS LADY LIBERTY AND THE TWIN TOWERS MEMORIAL, TO THE ART MUSEUMS AND THE UNIQUE ARCHITECTURE SUCH AS CAST IRON COLUMNS. WE WERE SHOWN THE HIDDEN NEW YORK CITY SUCH AS THE FAMOUS PEOPLES' HOMES, THE WONDERFUL DELI KATZS, AND THE DIFFERENT SECTIONS OF TOWN, INCLUDING THE ALMOST EXTINCT MEAT PACKING DISTRICT. I LEANED MORE IN OUR ALL DAY TOUR THAN I EVER WOULD ON MY OWN STUDYING AND SAW SO MUCH MORE THAN POSSIBLE USING OUR OWN RESOURCES.STEVE NOT ONLY REVEALED TO US FACTS , HE BROUGHT THE HISTORY OF NYC ALIVE WITH STORIES AND VIVIDLY PAINTED MENTAL PICTURES. I WILL RETURN TO NYC AND I WILL RETURN TO THIS AWESOME TOUR. | ||||||

| As requested we wish to furnish the following feedback on our Mid / Down Manhattan tour on Tues. 28th. Nov. 06 This activity was interesting & informative. Our tour operator provided detailed information and was quiet knowledgable, however we (4 tourists ) found his manner at times was inappropriate and bordered on insulting. We would recommend this activity to customers, however We would not recommend the tour operator we encountered. Regards, International tourists | ||||||

| A tour guide can make or break a tour. The guide for Marvelous Manhattan Tours has been doing this for more than 15 years and has everything timed perfectly and knows Manhattan inside and out. He's witty, entertaining, and includes many interesting facts that make you sit up and take notice. From walking around the theatre district and strolling through Central Park to eating a pastrami sandwich at Katz's...I had a blast! | ||||||

| Only one comment - we were told that the tour stopped at Katz Deli & while on the tour found out that it didn't but the guide dropped us off there anyway. He said on the 1/2 day tour it didn't go there. Our guide, Steven was very well-informed & we had a good time on the tour. Thanks | ||||||

| If you only have a short time in NYC, this is a must! Steve has been guiding tours for 18 years and it shows. I've been on tours in other cities - mostly in Europe and this is the best by far. I've been to NYC several times, but went this time with someone who had never been. I thought I'd be bored on the tour, but found it so interesting and fun. I learned a lot and saw plenty of new sites. | ||||||

| Steve was an abolsolute delight! Very informative, with statistics about things I wouldn't have thought to ask, but was so interesting. I'll bet I know more now about NYC than most people that live there. His love of the city just radiates. I wish more people would be able to know about this wonderful experience. Please do more advertising, I will spread the word myself. P. S. Please have Steve contact me, regarding some networking with my sister New York hotels. | ||||||
