All the information that could be packed into 6 1/2 hours was given, in a very entertaining manner. We were very happy that we chose this tour, and recommend it to anyone.

Marvelous tour

What a delight it was for my daughter and myself to experience Manhattan in a day this past Friday, March 6th. Steve, the best tour guide, made our day. We want to bring our husbands back and take the same tour again. He was not only entertaining but provided quite an array of historical background to all the sites . After our tour we felt confident in navigating the Metro and going to the different districts it took us to. I'd recommend it to anyone who visits this beautiful city. Thanks again Steve for your accommodating spirit.

What lights? Disappointing!

Not recommended as the tour was premature (before Thanksgiving). Very disappointing as the lights were not on yet. Suggest that tours only commence when lights are on. Otherwise no value for money as it's not a cheap tour.

Best Tour Ever

We were a mixed group of 6 between the ages of 25-60, primarily from Chicago and St. Louis. My sister and I had taken the tour before with Steven as the guide and recommended it to this group. Everyone thought it was well worth the money and Steven was fantastic as a host to the city. He made the tour lively, exciting and we loved getting the "inside" scoop on some of the people and places. Definitely recommend this to any age group.

Great orientation to Manhattan.

The small size of the group made the day very enjoyable. Steve, our guide, and George, our driver were suberb. This was our first non business trip to NYC and we wanted to spend time walking through the neighborhoods and the tour helped us to understand the naming conventions of the neighborhoods - and gave us confidence to wander the streets of NYC. We learned much about the history of Manhattan and planned our remaining time in Manhattan based upon what we learned on the tour. My husband and I recommend this format versus the impersonal big bus tours of the city. The lunch stop had the best pastrami we're ever eaten. Enjoy!.

The Midtown and Downtown Bus Tour of New York City

As requested we wish to furnish the following feedback on our Mid / Down Manhattan tour on Tues. 28th. Nov. 06 This activity was interesting & informative. Our tour operator provided detailed information and was quiet knowledgable, however we (4 tourists ) found his manner at times was inappropriate and bordered on insulting. We would recommend this activity to customers, however We would not recommend the tour operator we encountered. Regards, International tourists

Entertaining, but...

This tour was quite entertaining and we learned a lot, as we had never been to New York before. Learned a lot about the history, and now the locations on Law and Order actually make sense. However, we took the tour on a day where there were only 4 people (2 young couples), so Stephen was the driver and the guide. I can't help but think that it would have been better if he had been able to leave the van, which he was not able to do very often. For example, we were sorta dumped at Grand Central Station and told to be back in 10 minutes. I think it probably would have been nice to have Stephen actually go inside with us to tell us a little more about the history and the restoration. Nothing wrong with the way it was done, but I can't help but think that it must be better when the group is a little bigger, thus justifying both a driver and a narrator, and allowing Stephen to focus on the talking. While Stephen was a fine guide when talking about the buildings, the history, the locales, etc, he seemed to be a little bit of a loose cannon when he "went off script." At one point when the five of us were waiting to cross a street, Stephen told the only other people on the tour (with me and my husband standing next to them) how they are both beautiful and will have lovely children. We waited, but nothing was said to me and my husband, and we are roughly the same age. I was furious (not so much that he said it, as the other couple was quite fetching, but that he didn't have the courtesy to wait until my husband and I wandered off) and wanted to grab a cab and leave. Luckily, my husband talked me out of it. Ultimately, I was happy that we stayed, as we learned quite a bit, but the ire and embarrassment that I felt at that moment is unforgettable, especially coming from someone in a service industry. Along those lines, I felt Stephen's commentary at the former site of the World Trade Center to be a bit pedantic, biased, and unneeded. It made me rather uncomforable, and I can only imagine what an international visitor might think of his comments. In the end, I found the tour to be informative and well-designed, and would recommend it (with a grain of salt) to my family and friends.

We thoroughly enjoyed our fantastic tour with our host Steven at the wheel. Stevens supurb knowledge of New York City and the surrounds along with his humorous presentation was most enjoyable. From time to time Steven's opinions of none tour related items and of items of current events and/or political happenings were both outright funny and interesting. A full day of informative sight seeing and enjoyable conversation. Well worth the price of admission! Michael Kilgore

I TOOK THE HALF DAY MARVALOUS MANHATTEN TOUR FOUR YEARS AGO AND LOOKED FORWARD TO SHARING THE FULL DAY TOUR WITH MY SISTER AND HER HUSBAND. I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED AND NEITHER WERE THEY. MY DAUGHTER LIVED IN PA. AND TOOK THE TOUR SEVERAL TIMES WITH HER MANY VISITERS. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT AS A "MUST DO" FOR ANYONE VISITING MANHATTEN FOR THE FIRST TIME

We took other tours in NY too and we were very pleased with the tour and the tour guide. The driver for the tour was very good too. The guide was able to answer our questions very well and we feel as if we got a very good tour for our money. I would encourage any tourist to the city to take this tour.

I am a New Yorker who booked Marvelous Manhattan Tours to show an old friend from Eugene, Oregon my city, for her first time visit. Steve was a superb guide who provided in depth information about New York City and with every question expanded easily and conversationally in detail, sometimes including his own perspective where appropriate. He was wholly present, (engaged each participant by name), helpful, personable and involved in the most entertaining manner. We had sort of wondered whether we could stand 6 1/2 hours on a bus but it was the most wonderful and informational experience. I will most certainly do this again should the occasion present itself. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough for those who want more than a superficial experience.

I took my 12 year old grand daughter on this tour and both of us thoroughly enjoyed it. It was fun being with Steve and the others in the small group. In the past, I have taken tours of New York City and this was , without a doubt, the best. I liked the choices and Steve's comments and personal thoughts. I highly recommend this tour and its humorous and informative leader. MW
