For seventeen years the Lady Patty has been providing her guests with a look back in time at the golden age of American yacht racing with two-hour sails departing from the St Michaels/Tilghman Island area on the Chesapeake Bay and surrounding tributaries.
The yacht Lady Patty is a 45' ketch built in 1935 by M.M. Davis and Son of Solomons Island, Maryland. She was designed as an offshore racer/cruiser and did a great deal of both over her long and storied history. She regularly carries over 1100 square feet of Dacron in her sail plan that towers 56' above the water. She glistens with hundreds of feet of honey-varnished teak and beautiful bronze fittings. You will feel the solid construction and intriguing history the moment you step aboard.
Captain Jeff Mathias, the current owner/captain has years of experience as a professional mariner in both the commercial and charter industries. He previously managed all crew, survey and utility boats operations for Maryland Environmental Service on Poplar Island. He was even the First Mate aboard Lady Patty for three years after college.
Join us for a sail and let Captain Jeff introduce you to his passion for varnished teak, yards of sail and an amazingly colorful history that is the classic yacht Lady Patty!
