Could be much better

First I have to say we were disappointed because the tour was only about 70 mins. and not the 90 mins. advertised. I had the feeling that the tour guide may have been new and forgot some of the stories that she was suppose to tell us, hense the early end. She was full of energy and we liked that but the stories were not really very good and not very scary. Most were about little blond girl ghosts in white nightgowns. Even my 13 year old was bored. We enjoyed the brisk walk about town, and in and out of alley ways but again it was over too soon. It really did not deliver. just another tourist money making trap. On the contrary, the ghost lantern tour in Williamsburg, Va. was excellent. In any case we would not do this one again, and we do not recommend it.

Cancelled activity - no refund

The Ghost Lantern Tour / Plymouth was cancelled due to bad weather (high winds and rain). I had purchased $62 worth of tickets and was only allowed to re-schedule for the upcoming weekend. I understand the policy (no refunds), but it doesn't make much sense -- especially with those that have travelled a distance and to expect them to re-schedule to a time that doesn't fit their travel plans.

A great tour of historic Plymouth

We thoroughly enjoyed our Ghosts and Legends tour on Wednesday, November 22. It was the perfect start to our holiday in historic Plymouth. We all especially enjoyed the trip to the cemetary. Wish we had the opportunity to enter into some of the public buildings, such as the churches, but nonetheless a great introduction to town. We look forward to taking the other tour offered (history) the next time we visit.

OK Tour - but a bit disappointing

We took this tour about 10 days prior to Halloween - and on a Saturday night. We booked the tour on-line about two days prior to the tour. We specifically chose this tour company over the others offered because 1) we had taken a tour by this company in the past and had enjoyed it; and 2) they have these wonderful lanterns that each participant gets to carry and we knew our children would enjoy that (they were very excited about it). We arrived about 15 minutes early - but learned that the tour was oversold and so almost no one got to carry a lantern. Only about 3 or 4 participants had lanterns to carry and the rest of us were given fluorescent light sticks. My children were very dissappointed as we had reassured them that everyone would get to carry a lantern -even children. Also, because there were so many people signed up for the tour, they brought in a second guide. They told us we should go with one of the guides if we wanted to go to the cemetery - or with the other guide if we did not. We would have liked to go with the guide going to the cemetery - but so did just about everyone else. And so we ended up going on the tour that did not see the cemetery. Additionally, explaining about the light sticks and the addition of the second tour guide did cause a delay, and so the tour started closer to 8:00 than 7:30. Since the guides had another round of tours at 9:00, I'm pretty sure we got an abbreviated tour. The ghost stories were about right for the children, not too scary - but a little hair-raising. Overall, the experience was fine, but a bit disappointing.

This was my 3rd. tour in 3 years. I took my children over the summer, and a group of friends recently. The different tours guides have different styles, but all were good.

Went the extra mile, literally!

We were a small group just my husband and myself and another couple and because of this, Linda, our guide, took us on a longer tour which included the graveyard to look at the grave stones by lantern light. We returned the next day to get pictures of the detailing on the grave stones, and to commemorate the visit. She spun some great stories which were down-right funny and some quite chilling. She very much enjoys her job and the comraderie she and the other guides have with each other was very nice to see. They like to gather later to swap stories about the tours and ghost sightings. We would highly recommend this to anyone either travelling in a small or large group. We passed a larger group and they looked to be having a great time.

A Must-See For Those Visiting Plymouth

Our tour guide, Barbara, made the evening's tour a real delight! Walking with the lanterns added to the fun while we traipsed all about town. We even had some spookiness occur while on the tour--streetlights that went out and then back on suddenly several times. Wear comfortable walking shoes and keep an open mind!

Ghosts and Legends great for family

Our family took the tour with our ten year old son and a group of his friends. We are all from Plymouth and it showed us a side we hadn't seen before. The boys were a bit scared, but said in the end they really enjoyed it and learned a lot. We would recommend this for locals as well as tourists.
