We had a wonderful guide who even in the rain gave us more than we expected. I am a history teacher and this guy knew his history as well as great local information that I didn't know. I would do it again, even in the rain! We even bought our lanterns to take back to the clasrrom.

My mother, sister and I were in Boston to take on the Freedom Trail and other historical sites. I had decided to look into Plymouth to see the Mayflower II and the Plimoth Plantation (both worth seeing). While checking the website for other Plymouth activities I found the Lantern Tours. After spending the day at the other sites this Lantern Tour was a great way to finish out our historic interests as we were able to fill in the gaps with information that we had not obtained throughout the day. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable of the area and was very receptive to answer our individual questions. We were very pleased with the Tour and recommend it to all who would like to get a glimpse into the past of this country.

I believe in actual spirits and ghosts that walk among us, who have never passed over. In choosing this tour it was the best thing I have done in ages. On top of it, all I met an amazing man who informed me of not just history ,but someone who loves his job and believes, An amazing man named Larry. Not only informative, knowlegable, but sincere. , ..Thanks I will be back in the fall .....................................................Tell Larry her name is Abbyname is Abby Donna and John from Seekonk I'm glad our friends missed the tour....It makes us come back................

We had a very fun and informed guide. My boys 10 and 9 are still talking about stories she told on the tour. The next day they wanted to go back to all the sights we had visited the night before and see them in the light. My 9 year old son said the tour was scarier than he had thought it would be; he thought the stories would be more fictional and not so real and factual. He still had a great time, but now he is not so sure there is no such thing as ghosts!

Interesting if you like History

The tour was pretty good, but not terrific. Our guide was a little late, and was not in Pilgrim costume, as advertised. She was quite knowledgeable about the Pilgrims and the area. She told us some good stories. I felt that there wasn't a whole lot to see that we couldn't have seen on our own, since the original settlement is pretty much gone, and it's now just a modern town area. I am a History teacher, so I found the tour somewhat interesting for the closer contact with the Pilgrims. I think if you knew very little about the Pilgrims and hadn't visited Plymouth before, or you are a hIstory buff, you might find it interesting. But if you have little interest in History, I wouldn't recommend it.

Our guide was very enthusiastic about the history of Plymouth. He was a wealth of information and made the tour a lot of fun. We had a group of high school students who were interested the entire tour, and we hated to see it come to an end.

Could be much better

First I have to say we were disappointed because the tour was only about 70 mins. and not the 90 mins. advertised. I had the feeling that the tour guide may have been new and forgot some of the stories that she was suppose to tell us, hense the early end. She was full of energy and we liked that but the stories were not really very good and not very scary. Most were about little blond girl ghosts in white nightgowns. Even my 13 year old was bored. We enjoyed the brisk walk about town, and in and out of alley ways but again it was over too soon. It really did not deliver. just another tourist money making trap. On the contrary, the ghost lantern tour in Williamsburg, Va. was excellent. In any case we would not do this one again, and we do not recommend it.

Tour Guide Enhances Our Enthusiasm!

We were led by a very informative and enthusiastic tour guide through the town of Plymouth, Massachusettes. Despite a chilling wind, we followed our guide who engaged us attentively in her eerie tales of mystery and suspense. The addition of lanterns complemented the tour. At the start of the tour the guide said that lanterns were for sale, but we forgot to purchase one or more at the end. Please send us purchase information. ronjax@earthlink.net

Cancelled activity - no refund

The Ghost Lantern Tour / Plymouth was cancelled due to bad weather (high winds and rain). I had purchased $62 worth of tickets and was only allowed to re-schedule for the upcoming weekend. I understand the policy (no refunds), but it doesn't make much sense -- especially with those that have travelled a distance and to expect them to re-schedule to a time that doesn't fit their travel plans.

Tour guide very informative and fun...

I loved the tour and so did my family. We arrived on Thaksgiving day to attend the Wampanoag Day of Morning and booked this tour to follow up at night time. The weather was not favorable and it poured all night, but the tour guide gave us the option of returning the next morning which was sunny and warmer. And though we missed out on carrying a lantern, we found the day tour to be even better. Pat, our tour guide, was very fun and detailed with every area she described. Not only did she enlighten us with the common history but made sure that we understood facts that came from the tribal point of view as well as the colonist point of view. She explained to us in details about the Pilgrim's survival and what changed in the natural panorama of the area, from the natural springs that have been there for a few hundred years to the recent (1920) refilling of the swampy area where the national park exist. We got to walk thru areas that if we didn't have this tour we wouldn't have bothered to explore or what significance it had to the history of Plymouth, but also how it varies and impacts the modern population there. The tour began on time and ended on time and we had the ability to ask a million and one questions and get them all answered in a very fun and detailed manner. I wish there were more tours like these in every state, especially in NYC where I'm from. Walking tours give every visitor a perspective that driving through or staying at a fancy resort or hotel would never do for a tourist. I totally recommend it and I plan to go back in the late Spring to early summer when I can do another really nice walking tour, mainly the Ghost Tour by the same company, since the interest was sparked by the tour guide and the information Pat gave us on the history of the Wampanoag's resistance. Besides my interaction with the native people of Plymouth, this tour made it even the more worth it to visit, enjoy and go home and study more about this very important city in our country. It's a must do when visiting!!!
