Great thing to do with out of town company

Things were pointed out that I had never noticed or known, even though I am a local person. My company said they had fun and it was little effort on my part to entertain them. We sampled food from some restaurants that I had not yet tried. I will probably go back to several. I had previously visited the Tulip but was non plus about it. This time we had something different from the menu and I liked it. I have done the Brady tour and also liked it .

The tour guide was fun and well informed. The tour was informative. The variety of restaurants and food was great. It's a great concept that other cities should offer as well.

The tour was very well organized and our host was extremely knowledgeable about Milwaukee history. The soup at the Public Market where we started the tour was delicious as were the kabobs at Tulip, the best I've ever tasted. The time allowed at each restaurant was reasonable except for Spin, would have loved to play a game or two while I was there. I wasn't too crazy over the pizza stop as there was nothing really special about it. Overall, a good time with good people and of course great food.

Four people in search of dinner

The out-of-town couple and my husband and I who live in the Milwaukee area enjoyed our tour with Beth. We all were introduced to new restaurants and ended up at one of our favorites, Coquette's. Although Spin was a little busy for our taste, it'll be a great place to take our granddaughters when they visit. It is always interesting to see what is going on in town.

We had a wonderful time on our tour. Allan, our guide, was friendly and knowledgeable. The other folks on the tour were fun too! Nice variety of foods and drink to sample, and an easy walk about the neighborhood. I feel more confident about going back to the the Third Ward and visiting the establishments we toured!

Quality of Food/Drink on Food Tour Falls Short!

My husband and I have given the Milwaukee Food Tour tickets as gifts to four couples for special events throughout the last two years, and we finally took the Third Ward Food Tour ourselves with some of them this past weekend. The food and drink was minimal, when the marketing for this event is called a "Food Tour"! Each of the five restaurants chosen provided one food item; a bowl of soup, a third of a gourmet cheese sandwich, three bites of chicken on a skewer stick and a small bowl of mousse,(chocolate pudding)! With four out of the five restaurants, only water was provided as a beverage!! There was no soda, iced tea provided, let alone a "shorty" of various beers or wines that the restaurant might have wanted us to try if we would have liked. No wonder former groups on tour bought beer, wine and mixed drinks as they went through, as told to us by our docent who complained that there was no time for that! We thought that the Food Tour was the emphasis, not the amount of historic buildings. I normally have a long tolerance when it comes to evaluating experiences but for the amount we have paid, $90 per couple times five, including my husband and myself, the value of food and drink and restaurants chosen, should be an emphasis and at a much higher level. When we would arrive at a place, some wait staff would randomly greet us, and other places we were on our own, almost made to feel that we were in the way. One would think that the restaurants would want to put their best food forward as this might provide local advertising for them! To provide only water as a beverage is ludicrous, cheap and simply, not equitable for the prices paid upfront! One would think that the restaurants would provide a sampling of various foods that represent their establishment. Just a thought... In summary, for our $45 per person, we received five very small snippets of food from five full restaurants, four glasses of water plus one short beer, soup only at one place-- no beverage at all while we stood to eat it in the corner. In addition, we had great information about the historic third ward given by our docent, Jean, who was delightful, knowledgeable and quite frankly, a very interesting person. Any enjoyment that we had was because of her and she made the tour palatable. This event is not a Food Tour and we will not purchase tickets for gifts to our family and friends again. Thank you for your time.

I would recommend the Third Ward food tour to everyone I know - and feel like I already have. I've been constantly bragging about the delicious food, delightful tour guide, and overall great experience we had. The amount of walking is a perfect break between all the delicious food. You will NOT need to go out for food after - I was stuffed. Highly recommended - our tour guide Jeanne was great! I can't wait to go back to the different restaurants we visited for a full meal.

I was super excited to do one of these food tours and I'm so glad I decided to do the Historic 3rd ward. The food was wonderful, the history was really interesting, the walk was a good distance and Jean (our tour guide) was fabulous!! I will definitely sign up for another tour!
