Nicole was our tour guide and she did a great job. She was very friendly and knew alot about the area. The restaurants served great food. I reallt enjoyed the yummy grilled cheese sandwich at Spin. I took my grandmother on this tour when she came to visit from Atlanta. She enjoyed it but was really tired from the walking. It wan't alot, just a few blocks between stops. Our group wasn't large, only about 10 people. They were all friendly and we had great conversations. I highly recommend these food tours. They are a great way to learn the history of the area and also get a taste of great food too! Our tour guide was very knowledgable about the history of the area, even though she just started doing the tours and she also had great suggestions about places to eat. I will definitely be back to try out the rest of the tours as more guest come to visit. This is the third food tour that I've been on and I've enjoyed them all.

My husband and I enjoyed our food tour of the historic 3rd ward led by Robert. Robert was personable and easy to talk to. He knew plenty about food and the area and also answered general questions we had about Milwaukee. It was nice to have someone with such a wide range of knowledge. The food on our tour was really good and we enjoyed getting to sample the food and take in the atmosphere of the various locations. Had we asked, I'm sure our guide would have answered more history related questions on the 3rd ward. I'd say this tour is worth the cost as participants get to learn about the area with a knowledgeable and personable guide and also get to sample great foods and check out a handful of new restaurants.

My sister-in-law and I participated in the food tour in the Third Ward District. Our tour guide was Beth. It was only her second tour by herself, and she did an AWESOME job. We knew that she was newer, but would have had no idea that it was only her second tor if they hadn't have told us at the end. We thoroughly enjoyed learning more about the Third Ward District and eating the food. Our favorite stop was Spin Milwaukee where we had amazing gourmet grilled cheese and played ping pong! Such a neat idea and I had no idea that was an option in Milwaukee until going on the tour. The walking was easy, the food was delicious, and we were SO full by the end. Such a great experience. I'm excited to bring my husband on one of the tours in the future.

We took our Senior Girl Scouts to Milwaukee for the weekend. Our trip included the Third Ward Food Tour and we could not have been happier! Our girls had the best time and everyone walked away well fed with lots of fun stories to tell. We felt so comfortable in the Third Ward that we returned there the following day for shopping and snacks. Thanks so much!

The places we visited were very good and well prepared for us. The tour was shorter than I expected, ( only 5 places), but the food was very good and I learned some interesting facts about Milwaukee. Our tour guide was very good. Playing ping pong at spin was an added bonus!

Not worth the time and money

I recently went on the Third Ward Food Tour. I found the experience to be considerably lacking in terms of exposure to restaurants in the Third Ward and in types of food available on the tour. On the positive side, I found the tour guide, Beth, to be friendly and knowledgeable. She was able to share interesting tidbits about the history of Milwaukee. The food tour itself was overpriced. I paid $50 to obtain a cup of chicken soup, a slice of cheese pizza, a corner of a grilled cheese sandwich, a chicken kabob and a scoop of ice cream. I am not necessarily complaining about the amount of food but more about the lack of variety and any exciting factor about the food. I understand that you could argue that part of the payment is for the tour, itself but it is designated as a FOOD tour. As a Milwaukee foodie, I was excited by the idea of the tour because there are so many fun and interesting restaurants in the Third Ward. The tour attended NONE of these. How about an hors d'ouvres from Hinterland? A local ale from the MIlwaukee Ale House? A french dessert from Coquette? The tour took us to one of the only BBQ establishments in the greater Milwaukee area and we were not allowed to taste any BBQ, but rather, a scoop of ice cream. I found the whole evening to be a disappointment. This was my first food tour in MIlwaukee and I can assure you that I will not be attending the others.
