Not worth the time and money

I recently went on the Third Ward Food Tour. I found the experience to be considerably lacking in terms of exposure to restaurants in the Third Ward and in types of food available on the tour. On the positive side, I found the tour guide, Beth, to be friendly and knowledgeable. She was able to share interesting tidbits about the history of Milwaukee. The food tour itself was overpriced. I paid $50 to obtain a cup of chicken soup, a slice of cheese pizza, a corner of a grilled cheese sandwich, a chicken kabob and a scoop of ice cream. I am not necessarily complaining about the amount of food but more about the lack of variety and any exciting factor about the food. I understand that you could argue that part of the payment is for the tour, itself but it is designated as a FOOD tour. As a Milwaukee foodie, I was excited by the idea of the tour because there are so many fun and interesting restaurants in the Third Ward. The tour attended NONE of these. How about an hors d'ouvres from Hinterland? A local ale from the MIlwaukee Ale House? A french dessert from Coquette? The tour took us to one of the only BBQ establishments in the greater Milwaukee area and we were not allowed to taste any BBQ, but rather, a scoop of ice cream. I found the whole evening to be a disappointment. This was my first food tour in MIlwaukee and I can assure you that I will not be attending the others.

We took the food tour with our 18 month old (which can be like a game of Russian Roulette), but the group was fun, our guide was incredibly considerate and playful. Thankfully my daughter has a adventurous palette like us. We had a great time and wish we would have had time to do a couple more tours. Thank you for a wonderful time!

Fun Way To Get To Know Milwaukee

Four girlfriends have completed several food tours of Chicago and decided to venture out to Milwaukee. We loved learning about this city, its hidden gems of restaraunts and entertainment. Our guide was very pleasant, although she had worked all day and seemed a little tired. The night tour worked great for traffic and a good time to experience the ambience of the restaraunts we visited. We would all recommend this great way to taste Milwaukee.

Overpriced Tour

The tour was overpriced based on the food provided and information given. The food did not coordinate from one location to the other which several in the group commented on. The food was things that you would never consider eating together. There was one location that wouldn't even let us enter due to being sold out. Poor planning on behalf of the tour company. Would never do a tour with this company again.

A Wonderful Evening on the Third Ward Food tour

It was a totally positive experience. I enjpyed the walking; the pacing was good. The tastings were wonderful, at a variety of restaurants. I liked the informal, small group set-up. Our tour guide, Jean, was informative and very accommodating. Her presentation fostered an appreciation for the Third Ward and what it represents. It was a great experience!

I always enjoy discovering new restaurants, and I had only been to 2 out of the 5 places we went to on the tour. There were a few places that we stopped and discussed the history of the area as well, which was very interesting and informative.

The food tour opened my eyes to the real Milwaukee and I learned a lot about its background. Food was excellent! Only wished there was more beer available. As it was, it was only offered at one stop. Loved the food market it started and ended at too!

Greatest Bachelorette Party Idea!

I was looking for an alternative to the bar scene for a bachelorette party that I was hosting. I came across a food tour link and it ended up being the best thing that we did that night. We learned about this awesome city that we live in and went to restaurants that we had never been to before. We left with a full stomach and a want for more....so I for sure will be booking another tour!
