Walking, sampling food and having fun.

We were a small group of 8 friends. The sampling at each place was an additional pleasure. Everybody was so welcoming. The tour was very well organised and our guide was interesting and fun. I enjoyed this walking tour a lot and I recommend it to anyone who wants to discover Brady Street, the history of the Italian and German immigrants to Milwaukee as well as good places to go eat. Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and don't buy too much stuff at the italian grocery store because it is right at the beginning of the walk. Better to go back afterwards. We came back to the point of departure on the city bus which cost $2. That worked out very well.

had a informative tour

Even though I grew up in Milwaukee. the guide made our time interesting with her knowledge of the area. Little facts she knew and insite into the area made our tour more intersting than I thought it would be. I would like to see more food being served.

We stopped at a nice variety of places and sampled things I wouldn't have thought of trying. It's a great way to try restaurants and shops that you wouldn't think of on your own. I want to go back to every place we went to! Living in Milwaukee, I never stop to think about the history of the streets I walk on every day, but this tour gave me a new perspective on that. I'd recommend it to just about anyone.

What a wonderful way to spend a beautiful fall day
Fri, Oct 3, 08   11:15 AM Rose0413 Female 50-59 Local Couple on a Date
WE have lived in the area for 6 months and decided we needed to get to know the city and what it has to offer. This was a perfect way to walk through and taste the flavors of the neighborhoods. We will definitely go back to some of the restaurants, and stopped for pastries and cholcolate before leaving the tour. We are scheduled for the Third Ward Tour next week, and are really looking forward to it. Thanks to Terri, our guide. We had a great time. Jane and Chris

Eat, learn and exercise

I loved the idea of a walking tour. My co-workers and I are always talking about trying to get more exercise. We like to do things outside of work and I thought it was a great idea to do something together and get a little exercise in without feeling like you are exercising. Great stops and interesting information and history. It helped that it was a beautiful day also.

A great afternoon for visitors as well as locals!

We recently moved to the area and it was a great way to get introduced to the east side of Milwaukee. My brother has lived in the neighborhood for ten years and didn't know a lot of the information that was provided on the tour!

Explore local treasures

Going on this tour provided a wonderful background and personal, close-up view of local treasures, many that we had not taken the time to explore. It was delightful! P.S. to tour operators -- When you confirm tickets, please tell people to plan ahead as they will not be returning to the starting point, where cars are parked. It was a surprise we did not appreciate, and we had trouble getting a cab on streets blocked off for Oktoberfest.

My sister and I have participated in walking food tours in other cities. We were excited to share the experience with our parents last weekend in Milwaukee. We were not disappointed! The food was excellent. The portions and selections were well planned. We did not leave hungry. Our tour guide, Teri (spelling?) was friendly and knowledgeable. It was a great way to spent the day outdoors exploring Milwaukee.

Fun, interesting, could be more food for the money

The tour was fun and interesting. Lots of interesting trivia about Milwaukee and its neighborhoods. Good variety of tastes from local venders. Some of the food served was skimpy considering the cost of the tour. I would reconsider using the deli who only served olives, and the cheese shop and chocolate shop gave very small tastings. The pizza restaurant, German restaurant, and bakery were nice sized tastings for the money. The tour hosts should gear their venders and tastings more toward the restaurants examples.

We want to do it again.

It was a rainy, rainy day, but this did not dampen our experience. We really had a great time visiting so many different places in a short amount of time. Our tour guide was very enjoyable to be with and provided a lot of good information we would not otherwise know. I was surprised how much we came away with through the experience. We have lived in the area our whole lives and we are not strangers to the area of the tour. Yet, we learned so much. We will definitely be visiting these places in the future. We will also be going on the tour again. It would be nice to see the tour expand to other areas and restaurants, as well.
