Fun evening. Lots of good food and history of a quaint area of our city.

Fun time with friends

There were 20 plus of us. It was nice to walk with friends and dine with friends and mix it up as we went. The food was good, only 1 drink. The ending could have been better, we were in the lobby of a building and really could not sit together.

Average Food/lack of wine
Sat, May 12  6:00 PM annferguson Female 60-69 Local Group of Friends
The purpose of the evening is to be social and the food was average and the lack of wine or beer took away from the fun of a Saturday night out with friends. A wine and or beer provided immediately even before the food would have been great. The food was so average that we would have been better off just going to several places on our own. I would never do this again.

great way to tour a wonderful city

We have done a food tour before in another city and so were interested in doing one in Milwaukee. We were NOT disappointed. Our guide, Jean, was full of interesting historical information about the Third Ward area and very congenial. Wide variety of food to try and we were certainly full at the end! Loved the Turkish restaurant and of course the chance to sample beer at Spin. Highly recommend this type of tour as way to see and really appreciate areas you might otherwise just pass by. We will be looking for such a tour at our next city too.

One of the best things to do in Milwaukee! Our tour guide was Jim and he was very informative, enthusiastic, and friendly! Our group had about 16 people but didn't seem crowded. My friends and I enjoyed every stop on the third ward tour, some pickier eaters on the tour seemed to be disappointed so I don't recommend this for people who are afraid to try new things! We tried tomato bisque, margarita pizza, sweet potato chips, a very fancy grilled cheese, a locally brewed beer, and Turkish chicken kabobs and rice, and finished with a chocolate mousse at Coquette Cafe. We were all left with full bellies! The pace of walk was brisk but no one seemed to have trouble keeping up. I would recommend bringing your own bottle of water, they do provide you with water at every stop but it was nice to have one during the walk. I think it was a great value and would try out some of their other tours when I return to Milwaukee....maybe the Sunday bloody mary tour?

My husband was very apprehensive about doing the food tour. He felt it would be lame and boring; walking around to a couple of local restaurants and sampling food. He actually enjoyed it and can't wait to do another one. Jim, our tour guide, was wonderful and very personable. He really knew his facts about Milwaukee. He pointed out many interesting sights along the route.

I live in Milwaukee and a good friend was visiting from New York. We were both so impressed with the 3rd Ward food tour. We had a great time! Our guide was AMAZING- he knew so much about Milwaukee that I learned a bunch of new things. It was really fun to visit new restaurants and sample different cuisines. I am a vegetarian so I appreciated that there were options for me at each stop. It was great!

Discovered hidden pizza gems while on Pizza Tour
Fri, May 4  6:00 PM peichten Female 40-49 Local Group of Friends
We visited 4 pizza places in the Milwaukee area that I don't think I would have found on my own. It was great to try a variety of styles and toppings to decide which each person liked best. Hard to tell which I preferred they all have something unique and tasty about them. While quite full after the 4 stops we moved to having gelato- there is always room for that. Wow- flavorful! It was a great night that helped us discover places we would have never stopped at on our own. The tour guide was super friendly and extremely knowledgeable about Milwaukee and it's history. I definitely recommend the pizza tour!

Great way to spend an evening, catch up with old friends, meet new ones and get the low down on restaurants in the area. Nice twist on the 'going out to eat' experience.

I moved to Burlington a few years ago, but still don't know much about Milwaukee. This was a great opportunity to be guided through a part of the city completely new to me. We had a knowledgeable and entertaining guide and got to sample delicious food at several different locations. It made me keen to come back and revisit the area and see even more.

We were overall impressed with our tour guide and her knowledge of the Third Ward; we actually learned a lot and went places that we didn't know existed. However, we were a little bit disappointed with the choice of places that we ate. First stop was the Milwaukee Public Market at the Soup and Stock Company. The chili was very good as it always is. We would've preferred to maybe sample something from one or two more places there such as St Paul's Fish Market which is what the Public Market is known for. The pizza was great at Rustico and they provided Tiramisu in celebration of two couples on the tour celebrating an anniversary. Spin to us did not make sense and it was awkward coming in with all the young kids playing ping pong. The sandwich wasn't that great and they only gave you a fourth of a sandwich. The sweet potato chips were great BUT you had to share a very small plate with several other people at the table. The staff at Spin was not very friendly and it seemed that we were a burden to them. Next we went to the Tulip which was a Meditteranean inspired restaurant. The chicken shish kabobs and rice were excellent and the atmosphere had a great ambiance. We will definetely go back there for a full meal. Again, the staff acted as if we were a burden and it took several attempts for my husband to just buy a beer. The last stop was at Coquette, a French restaurant where we were served a good sized portion of chocolate mouse. The mouse was nice and think and really hit the spot. We didn't even go into the actual restaurant however and sat at bistro tables which were in the entrance to the restaurant. We weren't even sure what the restaurant itself looked like let alone what it served. Needless to say, we were overall satisfied with the tour but if you do not like talking to others and share food family style, you may want to reconsider taking this tour. My husband and I are private people and did the tour to spend quality time together without the kids... We were disappointed with the portion sizes at most of the places and were still hungry after the tour. We only received 1 sample of beer and Milwaukee is supposed to be known for the beer. The staff at just about all of the places treated us as an interruption to their restaurant and didn't offer to sell us drinks or anything extra which we gladly would have paid for. We paid $90 and still had to eat something afterwards.

This was a fun way to meet new people, learn about Milwaukee (the gathering by the waters) and try Third Ward restaurants. Our tour guide Michelle was a delight. Will definitely be trying additional tours offered by this company!

Even if you think you know everything there is to know about the place where you grew up, think again. That was one of the biggest surprises for me on the Third Ward tour. Not only did I get to experience resturants that I didn't even know exisisted, I was given some very interesting facts about Milwaukee that I had never heard before. The food was delicious! The tour guide was engaging, interesting, and very knowledgable about Milwaukee. I would definately take this tour again and want to try some of the other tours offered now.

I've lived my entire life in Milwaukee and still felt like it was my first visit to the third ward. I learned a lot and thoroughly enjoyed each of the restaurant stops along the way. Our guide was friendly, enthusiastic and knew the area very well. I highly recommend!
