Great Christmas Excursion
Sat, Dec 11, 10   9:30 AM vmannis Female 50-59 Local Group of Friends
Christmas around Milwaukee tour was a most enjoyable excursion. Traveling around and visiting eight businesses gave us a different perspective on how the diversity and uniqueness is incorporated into the holiday season. We especially appreciated the thorough explanation of the business's perspective to meeting customers' holiday traditions. As a suggestion, give more shopping time and allow the business representative to share with the group about their business and operation. The best tour and talk was given at the Stone Creek Coffee warehouse.

Great experience

The tour guide was very informative. The amount of food was just right. We were not that impressed with the food at Tulip. The portions at Rustico and the Public Market were impressive.

great choice of restaurants, lively commentary

If I had one brief constructive suggestion, it would be to take a more leisurely pace when walking. Perhaps it was the cold evening or the mostly young participants, but for a senior like me....it was hard to keep up. Leader should not forget those who are slightly slower. At one restaurant, our guide suggested that we use the lovely clean restrooms. When we came out, they had LEFT. One kind fellow guest waited outside for the two of us! The guide was cheerful and knowledgable however, and as visitors to Milwaukee, we appreciated the insights and good humor.

Interesting tour

The tour itself was very interesting and informative. Our guide was knowledgeable and helpful with questions. Minor difficulties included the following- 1. the pace was so rapid it was hard to keep up at times, 2. most of the foods were very good, although they weren't as "special" as would have been expected, and 3. it would have been nice to be offered a few more options for the dishes rather than just one choice at most of the venues. I enjoyed the choice of 3 soups from our first stop. It would have been nice to have a choice of 2 types of pizza, or 2 sandwich options at some of the other places. Last concern- some of the venbues did not appeaar to be ready for us when we arrived so the wait for food cut down on our time to enjoy it.

Fun but group was too large
Sat, Nov 13, 10   5:30 PM tonyspinone Female 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
We went on a tour for my aunt's 50th birthday. There were 10 of us, and we thought that the limit was 15 people. There were 18 on our group which seemed like way too many and not all of the restaurants seemed prepared for all 18 of us. (Not sure if they were notified that the group was so large). We did have a lot of fun and the tour guide was very interesting but I do feel that they really need to keep the group size under 15!!

No little tastings here

Our group of 5 decided to do a little something different for our dining experience. We all decided this tour was a hit. Couldn't believe the large sized drinks--these were the best adorned bloodies we've had anywhere! Our guide was very personable as were the other "tourists" This is an excellent way to spend a Sunday. The chocolate at the end was a sweet ending. Members of our group decided this tour would make a great gift for visiting relatives.

This is great way to entertain out of town guests

Not only is the tour informative to those of us who live in the area, but it is a great way for out of town guests to get a sample of some of Milwaukee's restaurants. My guest from Iowa is already talking about doing another tour the next time she is in town.

The bloody mary's are a meal unto themselves
Sun, Oct 17, 10   10:30 AM jblane Female 50-59 Local Group of Friends
I love trying new venues and heard about this tour through an odd source. However, I decided (after reading these reviews) that I would try the Bloody Mary tour, it sounded interesting. I invited a group of friends and have to admit, it was nice to have a website for them to sign up, that eliminated the work I usually will do to collect money, etc! The tour was awesome, the tour guide was awesome (sorry can't remember her name... must have been all the fun we had or was it the bloody mary's :)), and the bloody mary's were awesome (honestly, they actually could constitute a meal... I think that some had all of the food groups in them), and the "brunch" was just as awesome and definitely filled us up. Highly recommend this tour... even if you are a non-drinker or don't care for Bloody Mary's, still a great tour (they will substitute in whatever you want)!!!

I recommend this for a fun day of tasting!

What a fun day! Hailey, our tour guide, was peppy and full of tidbits of information along the way. The drinks were quite varied even though they were all Bloody Marys, and the foods were a wonderful mix of brunch items. Rustico's private room for our tour was really fantastic. Their pizza paired well with the drink. The Palms was a bit cramped. Personally I liked the Bloody Mary at Wicked Hop the most, so I would have saved that one for the last stop!! The Ale House was definitely the most well prepared for our arrival wtih plenty of seating ready, brought our drinks promptly, spoke to the group personally and eager to attend to our needs. The finale at the candy/ celery salt pack to go was a great touch. Thanks for putting this together!

A "gourmet" group of friends spent a day away on a food tour and had a wonderful time with food & history & fun with Marge. We recommend it for anyone who wants to find out about Brady Street. A beautiful day with food - what could be better!

We loved the Bloody Mary tour and will do it again
Sun, Oct 3, 10   10:30 AM MarjiHorvat Unspecified 50-59 Local Group of Friends
Everyone in our group of 6 rated this a 10 - it was a wonderful experience and a great way to spend a Sunday morning. The restaurants were great -it was very organized and well run - and we liked the commentary from the tour director about our journey through the Third Ward. We will definitely do this again, as well as trying some of the other Food Tours. The only thing we didn't like was the yogurt course - as it didn't really blend well with the Bloody Marys.

Had a great time!
Sat, Sep 25, 10   5:30 PM janadenise Female Unspecified Local Group of Friends
I attended this tour with 5 fellow gourmet club women. We decided instead of cooking this month, we'd let someone else do the cooking for us. It was so much fun to be together to just chat and not worry about who was preparing the next course. I loved trying new restaurants that I had never tried before. Marc was a great tour guide and made it fun and informative. It was scheduled for 2 hours but we took more like 3 hours to complete the entire tour. We ended at the wine bar which was perfect so we could continue to sit around and chat. I would recommend this to locals and visitors alike. We're already coming back for the bloddy mary tour. Can't wait!
