The stores were generous with their portions and made you feel like a guest and not a customer, particularly La Tarte and the flower shop! I absolutely loved them! The tour operator puts her heart into it!
The only recommendations I have are that the bus be cleaner before the group arrives (there was a big child's sucker stuck to the floor, gross).
Also, I did not understand how coffee shops fit, since they are not bakery shops. I do not like coffee ( I did not like Stone Creek Coffees nor Anodyne). There should have been bakery stores in their places on the stops list. I would have liked to receive more background information on the East Africans and their cocoa (chocolate) and how it correlated with Milwaukee and would have liked to have tasted their bakery or bakery with their cocoa. It just was not quite clear as to how that became involved on the tour, as it was a bit hard to hear. The history of what various cultures did tradidtionally for Christmas was nice, but I really also wanted to hear more about the cultural wards of Milwaukee. I was expecting more history of Milwaukee and its immigrants on the bakery tour.
Again, I want to thank the host of the tour, as it was quite gracious of you to share your passion of Milwaukee and its bakery with us! Thank you so very much for your hospitality! |

I am from Tosa and really wanted to learn more about Milwaukee bakeries. I was a little disappointed that the tour went into Tosa. I was hoping to go into some of the Italian areas with places like Sciortino's or Glorioso's. |

You get alot of gifts/treats from each location you stopped. Like the fact this had more stops then previousy tours I have been on. Would like to see more behind the scenes. I thought this tour would show us the actual baking process and how things are made. A few of the locations/stops, the staff seemed upset that we were bugging them. |

Great Christmas Excursion

Christmas around Milwaukee tour was a most enjoyable excursion. Traveling around and visiting eight businesses gave us a different perspective on how the diversity and uniqueness is incorporated into the holiday season. We especially appreciated the thorough explanation of the business's perspective to meeting customers' holiday traditions. As a suggestion, give more shopping time and allow the business representative to share with the group about their business and operation. The best tour and talk was given at the Stone Creek Coffee warehouse. |

The tour guide was very informative. The amount of food was just right. We were not that impressed with the food at Tulip. The portions at Rustico and the Public Market were impressive. |

The tour itself was very interesting and informative. Our guide was knowledgeable and helpful with questions. Minor difficulties included the following- 1. the pace was so rapid it was hard to keep up at times, 2. most of the foods were very good, although they weren't as "special" as would have been expected, and 3. it would have been nice to be offered a few more options for the dishes rather than just one choice at most of the venues. I enjoyed the choice of 3 soups from our first stop. It would have been nice to have a choice of 2 types of pizza, or 2 sandwich options at some of the other places. Last concern- some of the venbues did not appeaar to be ready for us when we arrived so the wait for food cut down on our time to enjoy it. |

Our guide, Jim, was fantastic! It is amazing to think that I was unaware of so much of the local history about the Third Ward and I have lived in the Milwaukee area my entire life. It is a great way to sample the fare at different restaurants! |

Our group of 5 decided to do a little something different for our dining experience. We all decided this tour was a hit. Couldn't believe the large sized drinks--these were the best adorned bloodies we've had anywhere!
Our guide was very personable as were the other "tourists" This is an excellent way to spend a Sunday.
The chocolate at the end was a sweet ending. Members of our group decided this tour would make a great gift for visiting relatives. |

Not only is the tour informative to those of us who live in the area, but it is a great way for out of town guests to get a sample of some of Milwaukee's restaurants. My guest from Iowa is already talking about doing another tour the next time she is in town. |

Our social group went on this tour and had a great time getting to know each other and other people on the tour. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. There were also so many other friendly people on the tour. It was great checking out the different venues and sampling such a variety of food. |

The bloody mary's are a meal unto themselves

I love trying new venues and heard about this tour through an odd source. However, I decided (after reading these reviews) that I would try the Bloody Mary tour, it sounded interesting. I invited a group of friends and have to admit, it was nice to have a website for them to sign up, that eliminated the work I usually will do to collect money, etc!
The tour was awesome, the tour guide was awesome (sorry can't remember her name... must have been all the fun we had or was it the bloody mary's :)), and the bloody mary's were awesome (honestly, they actually could constitute a meal... I think that some had all of the food groups in them), and the "brunch" was just as awesome and definitely filled us up.
Highly recommend this tour... even if you are a non-drinker or don't care for Bloody Mary's, still a great tour (they will substitute in whatever you want)!!! |

What a fun day! Hailey, our tour guide, was peppy and full of tidbits of information along the way. The drinks were quite varied even though they were all Bloody Marys, and the foods were a wonderful mix of brunch items. Rustico's private room for our tour was really fantastic. Their pizza paired well with the drink. The Palms was a bit cramped. Personally I liked the Bloody Mary at Wicked Hop the most, so I would have saved that one for the last stop!! The Ale House was definitely the most well prepared for our arrival wtih plenty of seating ready, brought our drinks promptly, spoke to the group personally and eager to attend to our needs. The finale at the candy/ celery salt pack to go was a great touch. Thanks for putting this together! |
