Fun and delicious!

This was our Mother's Day celebration. My mom and I both had a fantastic time on the tour. It really met our expectations. I like the variety - different styles- in both the churches and the chocolate places. The stories on the bus between stops are good entertainment along the route, and our guide was bubbly and knowledgeable. I want to extend a note of gratitude to all who helped my mom with managing the steps, loading her walker, holding doors and pointing out available ramps. The bus driver we had was outstanding, and did a great job of trying to park in a shady spot to keep the bus cool, be ready when the tours were ready to move on, pointed out certain facts, was friendly, and parked close to the curb so the step off was easier. Personally I enjoyed the St Joan of Arc Chapel the most, because of its age and history. It is simply astounding how old it is, and the more plain style of that age was a wonderful reminder that you don't need bling to be special. That being said, I also loved the other two. I like that the church had a representative who did the talking. You could just tell they were excited to share their love of their church. Traditional architecture (arches, rose windows, choir lofts, organs, intricate capitals, detailed pulpits, stained glass, etc) get me, so any church that has some of those would be a good draw. Newer churches with smaller budgets for details don't necessarily have many of these things, so it makes it more special. Touring the factory portion of the chocolate shop was a great add. And splitting our group in half gave time to browse the chocolates and make a purchase. Keep doing this tour; it was fun and delicious. We will have to come back to see what new places you have added.

My sister and I took our mom on the Bloody Mary Brunch tour on Mother's Day, she loved it! We stopped for 4 Bloody Mary drinks at four unique restaurants and we enjoyed every one of them. Each restaurant made it a different way and had a popular brunch item paired with the drink. I would recommend this tour to anyone who likes Bloody Mary's and a definite must for Bloody Lovers!

We were overall impressed with our tour guide and her knowledge of the Third Ward; we actually learned a lot and went places that we didn't know existed. However, we were a little bit disappointed with the choice of places that we ate. First stop was the Milwaukee Public Market at the Soup and Stock Company. The chili was very good as it always is. We would've preferred to maybe sample something from one or two more places there such as St Paul's Fish Market which is what the Public Market is known for. The pizza was great at Rustico and they provided Tiramisu in celebration of two couples on the tour celebrating an anniversary. Spin to us did not make sense and it was awkward coming in with all the young kids playing ping pong. The sandwich wasn't that great and they only gave you a fourth of a sandwich. The sweet potato chips were great BUT you had to share a very small plate with several other people at the table. The staff at Spin was not very friendly and it seemed that we were a burden to them. Next we went to the Tulip which was a Meditteranean inspired restaurant. The chicken shish kabobs and rice were excellent and the atmosphere had a great ambiance. We will definetely go back there for a full meal. Again, the staff acted as if we were a burden and it took several attempts for my husband to just buy a beer. The last stop was at Coquette, a French restaurant where we were served a good sized portion of chocolate mouse. The mouse was nice and think and really hit the spot. We didn't even go into the actual restaurant however and sat at bistro tables which were in the entrance to the restaurant. We weren't even sure what the restaurant itself looked like let alone what it served. Needless to say, we were overall satisfied with the tour but if you do not like talking to others and share food family style, you may want to reconsider taking this tour. My husband and I are private people and did the tour to spend quality time together without the kids... We were disappointed with the portion sizes at most of the places and were still hungry after the tour. We only received 1 sample of beer and Milwaukee is supposed to be known for the beer. The staff at just about all of the places treated us as an interruption to their restaurant and didn't offer to sell us drinks or anything extra which we gladly would have paid for. We paid $90 and still had to eat something afterwards.

Great way to get in the Christmas mood!

This tour was awesome and it was the second time my family and I went on it. All the same spots but different things to eat. Even though I live in Milwaukee, I have not heard of many of the places we stopped at, this time we we made a point of keeping tract of where we went and I have been back to 2 of the bakeries, everything was delicious and it was a great way to kick of the Christmas festivities! I would recommend this tour for anyone! The tour guides are so into it, it's a great time!

This was our first time doing the bakery tour and what an experience it was! We had an awesome time and the tour was so fun and great. I couldn't believe how many bakerys we stopped at and by the end we had so many sweets and goodies to take home we didn't know if we would be able to eat them all. Every stop had awesome treats for our tour group. The tour guide herself was great too. She was fun and very knowledgable and really made the whole group feel welcomed and she interacted with everyone so no one felt left out. I have already told a bunch of friends about the tour and we are already planning to do it again next year. Keep up the good work!

We had a wonderful time. I saw a large area of Milwaukee that I had never been to before. All the bakeries presented their items in a way that made you want to buy some of everything. I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes good sweets

My group consisted of my mother, my boyfriend's mother, and myself. We all had a great time. The others on our tour also seemed to really enjoy time together. We enjoyed the many samples. We ate so many samples on the tour, we decided not to go to lunch after. We also purchased many baked goods along the way. I would recommend this trip for a great holiday excursion.

We enjoyed the tour of the 3rd ward and to learn more about the area. I would change the order of the tour based on the food choices. The soup was a great start but it would seem Benelux would be a good next stop with salad and meatballs, plus Benelux seemd to provide the largest amount of food. Spin and Rustico would be great stops after that. Ray was great and he provided a Kehr chocolate for everyone at the wine bar but I would suggest dropping one of the "main course" entrees and insert a dessert course at the last stop before wine. Everyone in our group had the taste for more sweets. Perhaps we need to take the Milwaukee food tour for sweets next! Thanks again, we will recommend to our friends.

Loved the Brady Street Tour! My 2 sisters came from out of town and what a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon! The pizza had the best, crispiest crust around. Interesting info. Nice way to end up at the Lakefront brewery. We stopped back in the bakery and Glorioso's grocery, what great finds!

I would have liked to spend some time, say 30 minutes, in the Milwaukee Public Market. I think that can be achieved by doing so right before we had the soup. Meet outside, guide describes the market, we go in, meet at soup counter in approximately 20 minutes.

My husband and I had a great time on this tour. We had taken a previous food tour and really enjoyed it and decided to do a different one when we were back in town. Our guide, Jim, was terrific. He knew a lot of history and really described the sights to us. The food was delicious and the restaurants we went to were very fun. I would recommend this to everyone. Our second time around was even better then our first and the first was fabulous.

We were on an outing with our adult daughter and son-in-law. I scored a "A" from them with this activity. Jim our guide was outstanding, very knowledgeable and fun. At the end of the evening we were totally full. You don't really notice how far you walk. Just a great activity!!

More history than food
Sat, Sep 10, 11   11:30 AM llrgate Male 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
The tour provided ample food and plenty of area history, but it was short on food info. I would have liked more info on what makes the ethnic foods special. Especially in the grocery store, we were just left to wander. Descriptions and uses of the different cheeses, meats and other specialty items would have made the tour more interesting.
