Farmers Market & W. 3rd Street Food Tasting Tour

We had so much fun on the MELTING POT TOUR with Lisa. Her knowledge of the area, the history, the vendors added greatly to our enjoyment and in addition the food with fabulous. Would go again in a heartbeat!!

I'm a local who grew up in the neighborhood of Farmers' Market, but still didn't know many of the things covered by our wonderful guide, Kendall. The food samples were very generous, and exposed me to places I wouldn't have tried otherwise ... and I'm so glad! We also strolled along 3rd St. to other restaurants, many of which I will definitely return to. I was already a fan of Melting Pot Tours, having done the Pasadena tour back in 2010. This is a great thing to do, and the tour guides make it fun and interesting.

More then enough tastings to sample. Tour should have ended at the Market...the second part seemed like "filler" to justify the cost. The walking blocks were uninteresting and by this time you really have had enough food.

A wonderful tour that kept us entertained, informed and our stomachs full the entire time! Highly recommend!

We started with a Thursday night tour of Old Town Pasadena and later a Saturday morning tour of Farmer's Market and Third Street in the Fairfax area. Our tour guides, Summer in Pasadena and Diane at Farmer's Market, were superb.....interesting, knowledgeable, fun.....couldn't have been better. It was a retirement celebration gift for my friend and it worked out great; history, architecture, local lore, and wonderful food all in one. We highly recommend these tours to anyone.

This tour was really fun and I learned alot of the history of the farmers market and then also info on current events. I hope highly recommend this tour to friends and family.

Kendell our tour guide was great! She was very knowledgeable about the area and all of the food vendors. I went on this tour with my sister as a gift for her 30th birthday. It was a very special day and I am glad we chose to do the tour on this day because the tour was fabulous. The vendors were very friendly and we got to meet a lot of the owners. The food was great! I did expect more meal type food like the Churrascaria vendor but we mainly had snacks and light bites. The only thing I really didn't care for was the public transportation (bus) back to the farmer's market. They should really have a private van or shuttle, it was just weird taking the city bus back to your car. Other than that I would definetely do another tour.

Kendall was a fantastic tour guide. We had a lot of fun, ate a lot of awesome food and met some great people. Highly recommend!! I love the Farmer's Market.

The Melting Pot tour was absolutely scrumptious! We learned all about the history of the Farmer's Market and met many of the owners of the establishments....while dining on their specialties. We then walked down 3rd Street and visited several other fabulous restaurants and sampled their dishes. I highly recommend this tour as we had a wonderful time and learned a lot about our fabulous city!

This was my second tour with Melting Pot Food Tours. Once again, it did not disappoint my husband and myself. Lisa gave a short spiel about the Farmer's Market which was a very good way for an international tourist to appreciate a place better. We didn't just see the Farmer's Market as a place to eat and buy fresh produce, but as something more historically significant . This tour also had a more international flavour to it. We got to try a variety of dishes ranging from the all-American donut and gourmet deli to Brazilian, Indian and Japanese food. If you're new to LA, this tour is a must-join!
