Farmers Market & W. 3rd Street Food Tasting Tour

Having lived in the LA area for 40 years, this was only my second time to Farmer's Market. I will definitely go back ..the choices of foods was fantastic .. love the French Macaroons!!! 3rd street is also definitely worth repeat trips!!

Absolutely fantastic! Very well organized right down to every detail, including a free ride back on the bus if needed!!! Every restaurant the staff was amazingly friendly and welcoming. Our guide, Diane, talked to us as if this was her first tour and not her hundredth tour! The food was amazing and we are foodies and travel all over the world. Because of the tour, we are eager to go back to some of the restaurants. We are planning to book the Pasadena tour in the near future and bring along friends so they can experience this fantastic presentation.

The Farmers Market is absolutely fantastic and now that we have been exposed we can't help but go back. All of the food on the tour was delicious and it was a great way for us to learn some history of the city as well. Enjoy!

I'm an LA native and loved the tour. Melting Pot's selection of shops and food was fantastic and the narration was informative. I"ll sign up for another tour and I highly recommend to locals and visitors alike. Be aware that the parking at the Farmers Market cost me $13 because I went back to some shops to make purchases after the tour. It was worth it!

As my 15 year old niece was visiting from Chicago, my sister & I decided to take her & my sister's 12 year old daughter on the tour. I had read about it in the LA Times. After recently visiting San Francisco & doing the North Beach Tasting Tour, I was eager to participate. Also, I love to cook and have my own backyard veggie garden. The tour was informative and moved at a good clip. I would have liked to have met more store owners and chefs. I thought there were too many sweeties offered. Also, I liked how the tour guides incorporated LA history into their tour and would liked to have heard even more. Overall, I would recommend this tour to a visitor or LA local who is looking for a different way to see what the city has to offer.

I attended this event last Saturday (2/27/10). Our guide Diane was very informative & answered all our questions. We went to many places at The Farmer's Market & 3rd Street. The food tastings were great! I enjoyed ALL the tastings. My favorite was the last spot, a Japenese restaurant. I enjoyed learning the history of La Cienga & The Farmer's Market. I will definitely go back and do some shopping there. Great event for Men & Women. I enjoyed the company of everyone in the group.

An interesting out of the way information and tour that you would not find on your own. The tour gave inside information on the Farmers Market and local eateries that you don't normally see or hear. The tour guide was friendly and quite knowledgable. I highly recoomend the tour.
