| My wife and I, early 50's, went on this small group walking/tasting tour, and we really enjoyed ourselves. The tour guide was a nice and friendly local who had done her homework. She gave us 3 1/2 hours of behind the scenes knowledge of the Farmers Market neighborhood and its places to eat. Because of the small group (we had 9 in our tour), by the end of the tour we had made new friends from all over the world - including a nice lady from Australia. We had people on our tour as young as in their early 20's.......and I think we were the oldest. I would recommend it for ages 20 - 70+ ! (You are on your feet 80% of the time.)
My wife and I came to LA on business, but wanted to spend two days sightseeing. One day we took the VIP Grand Bus Tour, which was nice. Every big city has such a bus tour. In it, we saw LA from the top down - the big picture. The second day, we signed up for this Farmer's Market Melting Pot walking/tasting tour. It was our bottom up, behind the scenes, intimate view of one part of the city.
By its nature, I wouldn't recommend bringing children on it. Unless they could be well behaved for 3 1/2 hours, I suspect that they might find Disneyland more exciting. In our tour, we had none. This was a big contrast to the evening we spent at Downtown Disney, where the sounds and joys of children having fun were everywhere.
As for the Melting Pot tour, we highly recommend it !! FIVE STARS !!!!!
They also give a similar tour in Pasedena. The next time we are in LA, we will definitely book ourselves to visit that part of town. |

| Diane did a terrific job with the tour. It was very intimate with another couple, we all interacted remarkably well. I would suggest this tour to anyone either visiting or living in LA. That it would be a guaranteed fabulous experience mixing food, an expert tour guide, who was very knowlegeable re the area, the shops and she had a real insight into food preparation. |

| Background: Traveling for the first time alone on his 3rd day in LA. Usually stayed in his hometown for most of his life. Not really interested on the famous and stars so my comments are not relating to that specific field.
Comment: It was interesting. The area around the Farmer's Market has a nice small town feel if you arrive there earlier than expected. At the time I had to get something for my throat so I went to the Nordstrom shop that had a cafe shop open at that time to get some tea. The tour guide was nice and spoke in a casual manner. The pace of the tour was pretty good. We didn't need to rush to various places or had to eat on the go. The history lesson is also nice to hear as it pertains to how the farmer's market and west 3rd street got to be known. The crowd I was in consist of many people out of town which included myself. The food tasting was pretty good as most of the food that were appetizers leading to the final actual meal.
Overview: Highly recommended if within the area for the morning to early afternoon. Would bring others to the tour if within the area myself with friends. |

| When you go to other countries you take their tours to learn more about that region. This is an excellent tour for people who want to learn about their own backyard. I learned a lot and had a fun time tasting all the great food. |

| Diane is an amazing tour guide--extremely knowledgeable and enthusiatic about all the locations we visited. This tour would be a fun event for out-of-town guests and also for locals who want to learn more about their community. I had no idea there were so many great restaurants/bakeries/tea shops in the area. |

| I really enjoyed the Farmers Market and Third Street walking tour with Diane. I have lived in Los Angeles since 1991 and frequent the Farmers Market and yet I still learned a lot about its history. It was very personal and Diane is extremely well-informed and well-equiped to answer questions. For something fun and different, I highly recommend this tour, and it's great as something special to do with out of town guests. |

| I would highly recommend this tour (we went on the Farmer's Market/3rd Street in LA tour as well as the Pasadena one). The leaders were passionate and enthusiastic. Not only did we taste a huge variety of food samples, but we learned many local facts--historical as well as tidbits of local interest. We had an easy rapport with the tour leaders; it was fun to pick their brains about local happenings and get recommendations for further "studies" of the area. The tour directors were quick to hone in to our needs and interests. They had done their homework well. Please consider these walking tours. The pace is leisurely and the food is delish! |

| I did not know what to expect on this food tour, but it was more than I could have ever imagined. I learned a lot about the Farmers Market, its history, the history of the area and L.A. too. I also learned some food tips and a lot about all the restaurants we visited as well as those we did not visit. Our tour guide Diane was a delight and made us all feel welcome. She was very knowledgeable and took an interest in us as well.
I would recommend this food tour to anyone who is new to L.A. as well as to locals who don't know much about this area. You'll be well fed (the food was delicious) and well entertained. |

| We had a fun time on this tour and would recommend to family and friends of all ages, local or not. Diane was very informative and friendly, the small groups were great, and the tour length is not too long and not too short. Price is fair and we enjoyed learning about other points of interest within the city. The only thing I would change about this tour is the fact that about half of the stops are pastries/sweets and I would take some out and replace it with other tastings as the sweets were getting overwhelming for both of us. Would recommend. |

| Our group included an 80 year old and a 14 year old, and we all had a great time. Diane, our tour host, was entertaining and charming, and we learned a lot about the history of the Farmers Market and the various shop owners while sampling a wide range of delicious foods. This is definitely the best introduction to the Farmers Market and Third Street. |
