The best thing about this tour was the background information on the places we visited. We definitely will go back to several of the businesses--in fact, we already have!

The Melting Pot tour was absolutely scrumptious! We learned all about the history of the Farmer's Market and met many of the owners of the establishments....while dining on their specialties. We then walked down 3rd Street and visited several other fabulous restaurants and sampled their dishes. I highly recommend this tour as we had a wonderful time and learned a lot about our fabulous city!

Fabulous morning with Kendall and the rest of the group learning about and enjoying the Farmer's Marke and 3rd street. We enjoyed tour so much that we returned for a second visit a few days later. Do something different when in LA and take a Melting Pot Tour.

First, our guide did a superior job. She knew the territory, shared historical tidbits, and made the whole tour fun and interesting. The shops and restaurants we visited were well worth the time, both for the quality of the wares and for the opportunity to speak with owners and workers who clearly like what they do. We revisited several after the tour. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed the experience - you will too.

Fun and Yum on the Farmer's Market Food Tour

I set up this tour for a retired group of 7 teachers. I really did not know what to expect but thought it sounded like a fun activity to do. It ended up being the BEST day. We were greeted by our tour guide, Kendall, who was adorable. After a short history of the Farmer's Market we took off on our tour. We stopped at 13 different eating establishments and had tastings at 7 of them in the Farmer's Market itself then we headed off to West 3rd Street where Kendall pointed out several wonderful restaurants and then continued to taste at 4 other restaurants ending our tour across the street from The Beverly Center. All of the food we tasted was delicious and by the end of the tour we were STUFFED. I can't imagine any person leaving this tour saying they did not have enough to eat. The food ranged from Donuts and coffee, french bread, cheese and olives, grilled meat, and chicken, salad, candy, cookies, some fabulous Indian food and Sushi. There was something for everyone and NO ONE went away hungry as all portions were very generous. We had the extra thrill of walking by one of the restaurants where a Barbra Streisand movie was being filmed. Unfortunately, Babs was inside filming but it was exciting non the less. Coming back we had the option of walking back, which some of the group did, or taking the city bus back with Kendall. It is a short mile walk back to The Farmer's Market but some of us opted for the adventure of taking the city bus. Kendall gave us the tokens and stayed with us until we were safely back inside the Farmer's Market. A really fun day was had by all with lots of laughs, information, yummy food and great company. My group of 7 would highly recommend this tour to all adults. I can't wait to try the Pasadena Tour!! Nancy Lacher

Fantastic Food Tasting Tour

The tasting tour was both informative and delicious. The history of the Farmer's Market and of the various businesses featured that comprise the Farmer's Market was both very interesting and provided a good cross section of the cuisines offered. We thoroughly enjoyed our walk down 3rd Street with the many restaurant stops along the way. We sampled foods that I normally don't eat, but surprisingly, I did enjoy! The time just flew by and we left with full tummies! I'd highly recommend the tour as it offered a great variety of the many types of cuisines available in the Farmer's Market area.

The tour guide was professional, well-spoken, and fun. The combination of the history of the Farmer's Market and great tasting food made for an enjoyable morning. The walk down 3rd Street added another dimension by visiting a variety of restaurants with more food tasting. Fabulous Tour!!

Our guide was excellent....I thought comparing with the Pasadena tour, the portions were much smaller and just less samples. I did enjoy the tour very much...especially liked the Japanese restaurant at end of tour and wow we got to take the bus too. thank you.

All the years I've lived in southern California I've never known the history of Farmer's Market. Kendall was the perfect tour guide with all her knowledge of the vendors and the food and just a sweet person overall. We enjoyed all the food tasting and were full by the end of the tour. Tasting all the different ethnic food was a real treat, I would have never have tried them on my own. We actually saw a few T.V. stars also during the tour. Great tour for newcomers to the area.
