| Interesting stories and history of Farmer's Market, friendly shop owners and more than enough samples of food. By the end of the tour, we were ready to sign up for another trip with Diane. |

| Our guide and co-owner of Melting Pot Tours, Diane Scalia, met us promptly at 9:30am under the Clock Tower...we were given good directions and parking instructions. Diane gave us some history of the area and oversight of the Farmers Market where we had our first sampling of coffee and doughnuts. We then started out on our adventure of tasting and exploring many of the diverse eateries and markets. We wandered out of the marketplace and down 3rd Street to some unexpected...no flashy storefronts...gourmet shops, many quite unique all with different specialties. Diane was very cordial and made the trip interesting with her anecdotes of personal experiences, enthusiasm, and knowledge of the area as well as her personal connection with the proprietors of the businesses. We had a great time...great food... and are wanting to take another of the Melting Pot Tours soon in Pasadena.
Thanks Diane for a wonderful day with friends and for introducing us to places we never knew existed. |

| This was our first food tour & certainly won't be our last. The 3 hours flew & we were not ready to have it end. Diane is a wonderfully engaging person who was informed on the area & what it entailed. The atmosphere of the "Market" was friendly, the area very clean, & the fact that Diane was greeted enthusiastically by the vendors said alot.
We wish Melting Pot great success with this endeavor & intend to tell everyone who visits LA to "sign-up!" |

| My boyfriend and I are from Australia and went on this tour during our holiday in America and it was the highlight of our Los Angeles stay - and also the best food we ate on the trip!
Diane was a fantastic tour guide, so friendly, passionate and informative and the food was amazing.
HIGHLY recommend this to anyone looking for something a bit different from the Hollywood scene :) |

| I was looking for something interesting to do as part of my one week trip to LA and after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and LA Times, decided to book the Melting Pots Farmers Market Tour. Unfortunately the tour was fully booked so I wrote to them to see if they could accomodate one more person who's flying 20 hours to be there. I got a response from them right away to say the tour was booked by a private group but they were happy to have me join for the day. That was the beginning of a wonderful tour.
The host, Diane was gracious and knowledgeable, making extra effort to get to know everyone as well as to cater to individual food preferences/allergies. My tour mates (a lovely bunch of ladies who were long time friends) went out of their way to make this 'outsider' feel welcome. The merchants were friendly, the food delectable and the stories inspiring.
I can't wait to go back to LA again to join the Old Pasadena tour (hopefully someday soon).
And one suggestion for Melting Pots - perhaps a cooking tour next? |

| My husband booked this tour for my birthday and I could say this was a great gift.
We had a wonderful time. Diane, our tour guide was great. We were greeted so warmly .She always made sure to address us by our first names.
My husband and I have visited the Farmers Market numerous times, however we were introduced to patrons that we have normally passed up. By tasting the food on this tour, we will now be able go back with a better feel of what we would like to try on our next visit.
I highly recommend this tour. Whether your visiting So. California or your natives, you will truly enjoy yourself. One thing, you will walk away with more knowledge of the area and your tummy will be satisfied.
I have since told many of my friends about this tour and my husband and I would love to try the other tours that is offered. |

| We thoroughly enjoyed our tour. I have also taken the Pasadena tour and loved that one also. Wonderful and entertaining tour guides. We are giving a gift certificate for a tour to our parents for Christmas. |

| Our visit to the Farmer's Market and 3rd Street in Los Angeles, guided by Trish from Melting Pot Food Tours, was a great way to spend a few hours. We learned about the history of the Market and got to taste some wonderful samples of everything from doughnuts to cheese to olives to peanut butter. Then we walked down the fun 3rd Street, and sampled some more (tea, bundt cakes, Japanese food), learning along the way. The vendors were very generous with their time, telling the stories of how they came into their businesses. The highlight was probably our tour guide Trish who was knowledgeable, personable and very accessible. I'd recommend this as a fun activity for both those from the L.A. area and outsiders. |
