| I have been an LA resident for almost 50 years and finally got around to going to the world famous Farmers Market. I came across the Melting Pot Food Tour on the internet and I was so glad I did. Our tour guide Diane was the best. She was very knowledgeable, gave us great insights into the Farmers Market history and because she is a chef, she gave us great food tips.
It was nice meeting some of the local vendors and hearing their stories, but the highlight was the eating. We got to sample about 12 vendors wares and my wife and I were stuffed by vendor 6!
One could go through the Farmers Market in 30-45 minutes, but you would miss all the history and interesting stories. Take the time to take this tour. Well paced, you learn new things and food included.
Diane and her sister really care about their customers and they make sure you feel comfortable and unrushed. Definitely taking the Pasadena trip soon. Take this unique tour, you won't regret it.

| It was an excellent experience. I've spoken to multi-year natives of LA and they haven't seen as much of the area in their lives as we did in a few hours. Great time. |

| My wife and I started out by arriving 45 minutes late to the tour, so I called the number on our ticket and one of the two sisters that runs the tour answered the phone. At my request she tried to help me find the tour, like my own personal talking GPS system, and I was actually having a lot of fun trying to find the tour, ducking in and out of shops, laughing, and catching the attention of at least one security guard. But I couldn't find the tour, so even though I was having fun trying to find it, she put me on hold and called her sister Diane who promptly found me and my wife and brought us over to meet the other tour members.
There were five other tour members, which I liked because it was a small enough group to get to know everyone, including Diane the tour leader. Diane is very knowledgeable about food (she's a chef) and about the history of the restaurants and the area in general. She's very friendly, a lot of fun to talk to.
The tour visits a lot of restaurants, maybe 15 - 20 in total. Some are famous, some are inconspicuous, and all are unique and have VERY GOOD food! Most people probably won't have enough room to eat all the food samples if they eat before the tour, so I recommend not eating befor the tour.
I recommend this tour to everyone. It's well run, the owners of the tour and all the restaurants are very friendly and a pleasure to meet, the food tastes good, and you will find some great places to eat that you might not have known about. |

| Our tour guide, Diane, was a perfect hostess for this event! She was knowledgeable, friendly, & thoroughly organized. The food tasting was wonderful & the group of 12 was the perfect size to get to meet people & interact. My 2 friends & I enjoyed walking through the Grove after our tour & then dining at a Greek restaurant which served delicious food. I highly recommend this tour to anyone! Looking forward to going on the new Pasadena tour in the near future!! |

| The Melting Pot Tour of Farmers Market and 3rd street was informative and fun. Diane (tour guide) was knowledgeable and entertaining. Having been raised in Los Angeles and having visited Farmers Market numerous times in the last 50 years, I was very pleased to learn the inside scoop about the site. Tastings were good and varied. I have recommended to friends and would go again. |
