Great!

The tour was very informative and we got to taste lots of different foods. Also, we learned about places that we previously didn't know about as well as some foods that we hadn't thought of trying. The tour guides were great! Really friendly and knew their stuff. We'd been to the Farmers Market many times before but this really introduced us to traders that we hadn't paid attention to, and we just didn't know about those wonderful places on Third Street. Thank you!

This is a great tour, excellent tour maestra, very knowledgeable, friendly, shows you a different face of L.A. At the beginning I wasn't very confident on taking the tour, but now I'm glad I did, I took another tour after this one and it was not even close... hope they do more tours, variety wise... A+ Recommended!!!

Diane was great and entertaining. It was a nice warm day but no one in our group seemed to mind. We had a leisurely stroll and visited some nice restaurants. I live in Los Angeles and I wasn't aware that these nice restaurants existed. Considering a comparable San Diego 'foodie' tour is $75.00, this tour was a good value. When I get some time I will take the Pasadena tour also.

Fantastic - We really enjoyed ourselves

My wife and I, early 50's, went on this small group walking/tasting tour, and we really enjoyed ourselves. The tour guide was a nice and friendly local who had done her homework. She gave us 3 1/2 hours of behind the scenes knowledge of the Farmers Market neighborhood and its places to eat. Because of the small group (we had 9 in our tour), by the end of the tour we had made new friends from all over the world - including a nice lady from Australia. We had people on our tour as young as in their early 20's.......and I think we were the oldest. I would recommend it for ages 20 - 70+ ! (You are on your feet 80% of the time.) My wife and I came to LA on business, but wanted to spend two days sightseeing. One day we took the VIP Grand Bus Tour, which was nice. Every big city has such a bus tour. In it, we saw LA from the top down - the big picture. The second day, we signed up for this Farmer's Market Melting Pot walking/tasting tour. It was our bottom up, behind the scenes, intimate view of one part of the city. By its nature, I wouldn't recommend bringing children on it. Unless they could be well behaved for 3 1/2 hours, I suspect that they might find Disneyland more exciting. In our tour, we had none. This was a big contrast to the evening we spent at Downtown Disney, where the sounds and joys of children having fun were everywhere. As for the Melting Pot tour, we highly recommend it !! FIVE STARS !!!!! They also give a similar tour in Pasedena. The next time we are in LA, we will definitely book ourselves to visit that part of town.

Great Tour, would recommend for others

Background: Traveling for the first time alone on his 3rd day in LA. Usually stayed in his hometown for most of his life. Not really interested on the famous and stars so my comments are not relating to that specific field. Comment: It was interesting. The area around the Farmer's Market has a nice small town feel if you arrive there earlier than expected. At the time I had to get something for my throat so I went to the Nordstrom shop that had a cafe shop open at that time to get some tea. The tour guide was nice and spoke in a casual manner. The pace of the tour was pretty good. We didn't need to rush to various places or had to eat on the go. The history lesson is also nice to hear as it pertains to how the farmer's market and west 3rd street got to be known. The crowd I was in consist of many people out of town which included myself. The food tasting was pretty good as most of the food that were appetizers leading to the final actual meal. Overview: Highly recommended if within the area for the morning to early afternoon. Would bring others to the tour if within the area myself with friends.

When you go to other countries you take their tours to learn more about that region. This is an excellent tour for people who want to learn about their own backyard. I learned a lot and had a fun time tasting all the great food.

Very Informative and Very Personal

The Melting Pots Tour is a wonderful experience that take you through parts of Los Angeles that many residents do not even know about. On this journey you will find countless gems and be introduced to all of them in the friendliest fashion. Diane and Lisa have put together what I would call one of the most personal and one for the must see list whether you are just visiting or hail from LA. At the end, you will not be able to thank them enough and will be begging for more.

We love seeing farmers markets in different parts of the country and world and the tour certainly made our experience that much better. Diane was a fabulous hostess and made the day very enjoyable. There was enough for us to skip lunch and have a great time as well!

An experience I cannot recommend enough. My wife and I left the tour with not just a better understanding of the food in the area, but a much greater understanding of the city's history and an insight of a 'real' LA. On top of the fantastic tour, the other members of our group were a mix of tourists and Angelenos, they gave a further depth to the entire experience. My wife and I often shy away from tours, finding them touristy and restrictive. This tour broke all those stereotypes. Fantastic!

Great way to spend the morning!

We thought we could do something like this on our own, but we were wrong. There is so much info about the Farmers Market and the various places visited that it is really worthwhile. If you are a local and enjoy trying new places, this is for you. If we lived in the area, we could stay busy for a while trying all of them again. The food sampled during the tour is so varied (& tasty) that there is something for everyone to enjoy.
