Great tour with authentic eats

Being a previous Melting Pot Tour customer, I knew that I would have a good time on the East LA tour. I have to admit, I had some hesitations beforehand since it involved going into neighborhoods that were not in the safest areas of Los Angeles. However, I felt completely safe during the tour, both on the Gold Line and walking through the neighborhoods. Our guide Kendall did a superb job like she did on a previous tour that I've been on. She was very hospitable and knowledgeable. We went to a variety of local stores and restaurants which showcases authentic Mexican food. I tried some foods that I've never had before, such as braised goat at a popular restaurant which specializes in goat. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who is curious about Latin culture and authentic Latin cuisine.

Have already told others about this tour

First I would like to commend our tour guide, Kendall, for the way she conducted the tour. Everything was organized and at the end we felt that we had truly experienced the flavors of the Latin food scene and culture. Our favorite tasting experience was one that surprised us and that is the dish we keep raving to others about, Don't wish to tell what that dish is because it would ruin the wonderful surprise that awaits you. If you are wondering, we definitely were filled by the end of the tour. Well done, Melting Pot!!

I haven't stopped talking about it yet. It was most informative and fun. I have lived in L.A. for over 30 years and never knew some of spots we visited existed. The food was outstanding. It was one of the most enjoyable tours I have ever taken in this city. Our tour guide Kendall was a delight, she keep us interested from beginning to end. I would certainly recommend this tour. I give it a 10. Dotty Stevens

Really fun time to be had..

We had the pleasure of seeing a really interesting and historical part of LA, that many would never get to see. I have grown up in San Francisco, been to LA hundreds of time, and had kids go to school in LA, but never had the chance to explore the true Hispanic legacy that is present. We got to visit very cool places, learn the history, ride the metro, and taste some great Mexican/Hispanic food. We also got the opportunity to visit a Cafe run by the Homegirls, which had great food, and helps women get out of the gang lifestyle. What a powerful experience. Highly recommended.

The food tasting was really great. A nice variety of food, homemade tamales, goat and great pasteries. The guide was very informative and gave us a great history lesson.

Something new, tour with a metro ride

This was a fun tour and different than other food walking tours I've taken. I've never been on the LA metro system before - by the looks of it I'd say not too many others take it either, it's quite clean. This tour didn't have as much shopping as I'd have liked. Kendall was great and is a joy to spend time with, I've had her on the Farmer's Market tour before. I enjoyed all of the stops but thought the last coffee shop could have been removed or something else put is its place. I'll be back to take the Pasadena tour with this outfit.

I loved this interesting tour. Summer was an excellent guide and our exploration of East LA and Boyle Heights was fascinating and informative. I've already convinced friends to sign up for a tour in the near future.

We loved the gastronomical history lesson that was the East LA Food Tour. Summer was full of knowledge and enthusiasm. It was so worth the price. We saw so much at a leisurely pace and will be back for more tours in the future.

Great Experience & Good Value for the Money

This was my 3rd tour with Melting Pot Tours and they are highly recommended. Our guide, Summer, was a total pro and also spoke Spanish which was a big help with the locals. If you're at all curious about East L.A. and didn't want to explore the area on your own this is the way to do it. The majority of the businesses visited really went the distance to be extra hospitable. I'm going to go back to a couple of the restaurants on my own to enjoy full meals.
