The Latest Melting Pot Tour, Feb. 26, 2011

This was a very enjoyable tour that showed me, a resident of L.A. County for 51 years, areas that I'd never been to before, and would certainly like to see again. Diane, our leader was full of enthusiasm, and information on the places we were going to: the restaurant owners, the specialties that the restaurants were known for, how tortillas are made, etc. I also had my first ride on the Gold Line or any of the lines. The food samples were wonderful, and so many of them that I skipped dinner that night. I came away with the feeling that I was no longer in Los Angeles but rather, a foreign country. I highly recommend this tour, also the other two Melting Pot Tours, which I've taken. I regretted not taking my little camera along.

We loved the gastronomical history lesson that was the East LA Food Tour. Summer was full of knowledge and enthusiasm. It was so worth the price. We saw so much at a leisurely pace and will be back for more tours in the future.

This was our first walking tour focussed on food. We found the guide knowledgable and the tour interesting. The food was fantastic. Really appreciated the bits of history and think that there should be more of the history of the areas included.

Summer was a wonderfully informative and friendly guide. Her knowledge of the areas we visited added another dimension to the food experience. The food was delicious, the hosts welcoming, and the areas diverse - we had such a brilliant morning eating our way through East LA. Homeboy Industries was an inspiration - and a perfect first stop to set the seen for the rest of our food adventure! If I had more time, I would have done their other tours! This tour is a must for foodies!

This food tour demonstrates a part of LA that most tourists do not see. The humbleness and passion these people have is remarkable. Great food and great people.

First I would like to commend our tour guide, Kendall, for the way she conducted the tour. Everything was organized and at the end we felt that we had truly experienced the flavors of the Latin food scene and culture. Our favorite tasting experience was one that surprised us and that is the dish we keep raving to others about, Don't wish to tell what that dish is because it would ruin the wonderful surprise that awaits you. If you are wondering, we definitely were filled by the end of the tour. Well done, Melting Pot!!

Really fun time to be had..

We had the pleasure of seeing a really interesting and historical part of LA, that many would never get to see. I have grown up in San Francisco, been to LA hundreds of time, and had kids go to school in LA, but never had the chance to explore the true Hispanic legacy that is present. We got to visit very cool places, learn the history, ride the metro, and taste some great Mexican/Hispanic food. We also got the opportunity to visit a Cafe run by the Homegirls, which had great food, and helps women get out of the gang lifestyle. What a powerful experience. Highly recommended.

Something new, tour with a metro ride

This was a fun tour and different than other food walking tours I've taken. I've never been on the LA metro system before - by the looks of it I'd say not too many others take it either, it's quite clean. This tour didn't have as much shopping as I'd have liked. Kendall was great and is a joy to spend time with, I've had her on the Farmer's Market tour before. I enjoyed all of the stops but thought the last coffee shop could have been removed or something else put is its place. I'll be back to take the Pasadena tour with this outfit.

My family and I recently attended the East LA Latin Food Tour. What a great day. What better way to experience the local flavors of a city. We enjoyed the food, history and our tour guide, Summer. We enjoyed the tour so much, we came back the next day to do the Farmers Market & 3rd Street tour as well.
