Our tour guide was very good. She shared information about the history of Pasadena and pointed out interesting buildings and architectural features as we walked around. But the best part was all the wonderful food we got to sample. My friends and I were very impressed with the variety and quantity of our food samples. It was a very enjoyable and informative tour, and definitely a bargain considering all the food we got to eat. |

Really enjoyed the diversity of the tastings and other shops. The tour guide was enthusiastic and conscientious. A special asset was her ability to call us each by name. |

The tour guide was soft spoken, so when she turned away from our part of the group during the tour, we could not hear what she was saying. It was a lot of fun. We met a lot of nice people and new places. |

I had a friend visiting So. Cal from Colorado and looked for fun things to do different from everyday "shopping and lunch" I came across the Melting Pot Tours in a Westways (auto club) magazine. I live in So Cal but this was new to me. I booked it and we spent a great Sunday morning and afternoon learning about Pasadena and enjoying great food. Our guide Summer was great. She was informative, pleasant and always answered our questions. I will definately try any other tours they have in the future. I am glad I found the advertisment! |

My husband and I live in England . The tour appealed to me because it combined food with sightseeing and it didn't disappoint. As well as being interesting and giving an insight into Pasadena's history, it was very informative regarding restaurants and shops. It was a good way to discover what was available in down town. We went back to two of the restaurants in the following days and would have gone to more had we had the time. The shops were great for buying gifts to take back home. |

We enthusiastically recommend this wonderful Old Pasadena Food Tasting Tour!!
We had the best time and it was perfect for us and for our parents. Our tour guide was SUMMER and she was exceptional and a real blessing for our group. We have lived in Pasadena for about a year but were unfamiliar with many of the restaurants spotlighted on this tour.
My parents, visiting from out of town, joined us for this adventure and I was a bit hesitant when I booked it. This was their introduction to Pasadena, only having arrived the night before. My Dad is active but is 80 and can't walk for long periods without a little stop. How would he like this? He loves adventure, food, and architecture so it seemed like a good fit. Boy, was it ever!! This tour could not have been MORE PERFECT for our family.
The four of us had the best time discovering fantastic places to eat and also the history of Old Pasadena. The restaurants and establishments chosen for this tour were all different but all outstanding. We fell in love with a part of Old Pasadena we never knew existed. Even though there is lots of walking and the tour lasts 3 hours, my Dad had no trouble because you are sitting down often to eat!
Summer was a gracious hostess and guide and was accessible, friendly, and outgoing. You can tell that she loves her job because it shows!
We plan to support those places we visited and we would definitely take this tour again! DON'T EAT BREAKFAST & PACE YOURSELF- there is an abundance of delicious food!!
We are looking forward to also going on the other Melting Pot Tour of the LA Farmers Market sometime in the near future! |

I went on this Old Pasadena Food Tasting Tour in August with a couple of friends from out-of-state. I enjoyed it so much that this time, I brought another friend to celebrate her birthday. In August, our guide was Mike, who was very nice and informative. This time, our guide was Summer, who was also very pleasant and made us all feel at home. Our group had 13 people compared to my August tour which had only 6 people. There were 4 others who were also celebrating their birthdays. Summer helped celebrate by bringing out the slices of cake from one of the stops topped with 2 candles and everyone sang Happy Birthday. Just a thought....maybe Melting Pot should consider giving a special birthday discount to those who are celebrating their birthdays with the tour.
The pacing and food tasting was great. I enjoyed everything just as much this second time around. The best restaurant on the tour was Equator, which is a Asian fusion type of restaurant. They brought out a steaming plate of dim sum (pork dumplings), then a dish of Basil Mignon (tender chunks of filet mignon stir-fried with basil in a delectable brown sauce) and Orange Chicken. The food was to die for!!! It would have been nice if they gave us rice too but then again, if they did, we would have been too full to enjoy the rest of the tasting tour.
The variety of food tasting and shops was excellent. I highly recommend this tour to everyone. Almost everyone on this tour were locals (from SoCal) which was kind of surprising to me. But like me, I didn't know there were so many good eateries and interesting shops in Old Pasadena until I went on this tour. |

I had a lot of fun on the tour and we went to so many places! We tried tons of great food and drink and had a great time seeing the city. The only slightly negative thing I can say about the tour was that we added on the optional wine and cheese portion which I thought was going to be a wine tasting. It ended up being one glass of wine with some cheeses to sample which were all very good but I had expected a little more for the extra $15. Overall I thought the tour was well worth it though and I would definitely go on another one when I come back to LA. |
