The Melting Pot Food Tour in Old Pasadena was a lot of fun. We walked around the old town, enjoyed listening to the history behind and tasted amazing foods from around the world. All businesses are family owned and really put their hearts in what they do.
This is a fun idea to spend a day as a couple, as a family or to give to someone as a gift. |

I wanted to make a surpise for my friend's birthday. I have to admit that I was little a bit sceptic, but I did a good choice to make that day fresh and different. I did research reading others reviews and I was overwhelmed with all kinds of info and suggestions and at some point I didn't know what to chose. This was a GREAT! Perfect sunny,Sunday morning, nice group, of people (mostly couples from 25 to 60+), and very good, knowledgeable tour guide. Perfect combination of pleasant walk, little a bit of history, hidden places and eateries kept as secrets, socializing, tasting, and satisfying all senses from palate to visual, from audio to aromatic.
BUT, there is only one complaint: the order in which we visited places; everything was a kind acceptable and made sense until the last two places - Tibetian restaurant with curry spiced food after we had cake, gelato and then again chocolate after Indian food. It was real mess of flavours. So, either they need to start a tour later, at 11:30 with olive oil tasting, Soap Kitchen, then Indian food and continue with food, then make a break with teas and then finish with sweet flavours. It is not all about food (which I like) but there needs to be some sensations order. We can not just attack them suddenly. Anyway, this is something to reccomend greatly. |

This is a "must" for visitors to LA. Old Pasadena proved to be a place to return to in order to sample "in full" the great delights we were tempted with during our tour. So much variety - spoilt for choice so it was hard to say what we enjoyed most. Our guide made it a really great tour, with lots of interesting facts and tips for future visits. Wish we had had time to take the other tour from Farmers Market. |

We had so much fun on this tour. You exceeded our expectations with the variety and number of stops you took us to in old town Pasadena. So many small interesting places which we would never have found on our own. The tasting part of the tour was especially nice. There was such a variety of foods and tastes that no one needed lunch afterward. Everyone we met was welcoming and provided us with a real feeling of old town hospitality.
Mike, our tour leader was so good at what he does -- he makes you feel like an old friend of his that he is showing around his home town. We learned a lot and we will certainly be telling all our friends about this wonderful experience.

I took my mom on this tour for her 75th birthday and we both really enjoyed it! We're from the area and were pleased to learn new things about this history, architecture, and food of Pasadena. The tour guide was excellent, very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this tour! |

Visiting from the UK, we thought this tour would provide a great chance to see an area of LA we might not otherwise have visited, and eat too!
Our tour guide was perfectly charming and gave lots of interesting facts about the area and each of the small businesses we visited. He also made us feel very welcome in the group, which was made up of near-locals. There was an excellent selection of food provided and quality was superb. We only wished we had stayed more days so that we could have returned to sample more. |

The Old Town Pasadena tour was lots of fun. We never did a tasting tour before and we were looking forward to doing something different- and we weren't disappointed. We went to places "off the beaten path" and discovered many spots that we probably wouldn't have found on our own. Our guide was very knowledgeable. They provide you with plenty of food and keep the pace brisk so you never get bored during the 3 hours. They keep the group at 15 so it is manageable. We will definitely try more tours in other areas around LA in the future. Highly recommend. |

Nice tour of Pasadena Old Town. The guide was very good and kept us moving in the rain! I liked the diversity of venues visited. We would have liked a little time to purchase during the stop instead of having to go back afterwards. Food selections were very good. |

The tour was great.
We were feed within a few minutes of arriving, so we didn't have to wait until the end of the tour to eat. There was enough food that if there was a left over piece or two, a person could have it. There wasn't so much food that we became full and unable to walk.
The food selection wasn't all the same either. There was a mix of cultures, flavors and experiences. We travel internationally and have sampled many types of food, but about half the food I had never tried before. Can't say I like them now, but I've tried it and didn't gag!!
The tour moved along, some tours we have been on moved at a snail's pace. Our tour guide also had knowledge of architecture so the tour was more than just food; it was history, buildings and food! There were places for restrooms and cups of water. Would recommend that you bring a bottle of water.
Wish they would do more locations! |
