Old Pasadena Food Tasting Tour

Wish there was a tour like this in every city I visit.

I didn't think we would get much to eat, especially if we had not had dinner prior, but it was plenty and our group, several couples from out of state....we all got along, sharing even the vegetarian dishes that presented to our one vegetarian. The tour guide was excellent, we enjoyed her sister too. I am planning to take my children and their spouses as a treat from me....will I get a discount? There will be 7 of us....thanks. I like I like the group and the food was good....the girls that lead the group nice and made you feel comfortable and al and all everyone seems to enjoy.....the only thing that reck the evening the girl was late one hour....but would of been ok if they would of just brought out the wine and cheese sooner it would of made the wait nice but by the time they brought out the wine the girl showed up and we had to hurry.....the star news said there was to be a goody bag too which we did not get.....but all and all I enjoyed my time out and the company and food was good.

I had a friend visiting So. Cal from Colorado and looked for fun things to do different from everyday "shopping and lunch" I came across the Melting Pot Tours in a Westways (auto club) magazine. I live in So Cal but this was new to me. I booked it and we spent a great Sunday morning and afternoon learning about Pasadena and enjoying great food. Our guide Summer was great. She was informative, pleasant and always answered our questions. I will definately try any other tours they have in the future. I am glad I found the advertisment!

We all enjoyed it and had a positive experience. I would emphasize more historical detail in the tour (not only the broad sweep of history but what happened to individuals like the Lucky Baldwin story. Proprietors were overall friendly and the food was good. Our group's favorite was the Mexican restaurant, with the falafels being the weakest. The soap store was interesting by the proprietor sold her product too hard for my taste.

Very knowledgeable guide that led us on a wonderful tour of a city that has so much beauty, history, architecture and restaurants. We loved meeting the local owners and how they made us feel so welcome. Each was proud of their establishment and happy to be part of the tour. We went back after the tour and stopped and shopped after recommendations from our tour guide. We did the Farmer's Market tour recently and now we have two wonderful experiences.

My Sister came out to Los Angeles for a visit and I thought this would be a fun activity as we both enjoy food and cooking and things like foodnetwork channnel, etc. We had a wonderful time and not only tasted some yummy food, but also got to learn some history about Old Pasadena. It was great to meet the shop owners too and learn about their background and how they started their restaurants.
