Enjoyed the tour guide more than the "food" part of the tour. The tour guide was very informative, patient, and easy going. |

Very knowledgeable guide that led us on a wonderful tour of a city that has so much beauty, history, architecture and restaurants.
We loved meeting the local owners and how they made us feel so welcome. Each was proud of their establishment and happy to be part of the tour.
We went back after the tour and stopped and shopped after recommendations from our tour guide.
We did the Farmer's Market tour recently and now we have two wonderful experiences. |

The Old Pasadena food tour was a great experience - it lasted about four hours, was relaxed, with a good balance of information on food, history and architecture of Old Pasadena. The restaraunts were all genuinely interested in explaining their business, why they are in the restaraunt business, and explaining the history of their food.
The hosts made all of the guests feel comfortable, with introductions and a great job of pacing the many stops so we made it through all the stops without feeling rushed. We tried lots of foods we had never had - samples were right-sized, the variety was great.
Enthusiastic recommendation - woudl definitely do this tour again. |

I have been on many food tours and this was one of the best. I went with my two college-aged children who also loved it. The tour lasted 3 hours and 40 minutes. There was a lot of food and fun information to digest. We got to sit down at several of the eateries and socialize with the interesting people who were on the tour with us. Lisa, the owner of the company, went on our tour. She was very personable. She even wrote me a personalized e-mail to thank me for going on the tour. This was one of the highlights of my trip to LA. Highly recommended by a man who has been on over 20 food tours! |

I chose this activity based on the solid reviews on TripAdvisor, and was not disappointed. Our tour leader, Mike, was very knowledgeable and personable, and clearly enjoys what he does. The stops were appropriately timed, contained a variety of samples of different types of foods, as well as a suitable amount. I also appreciated that they were able to accommodate my nut allergy! Next time I'm in LA I'll definitely do the Farmers Market Tour! |

My wife and I had a great time on this tour. We were surprised by how many different places we stopped to sample food and drink. The tour description made it sound like it would only be a few but in reality it was about a dozen. The pace was perfect: our guide, Mike, did a great job of keeping the group on schedule without ever making us feel rushed. Lots of fun. |

My fiancé and I did the Old Town Pasadena tour this past Saturday. In one word - AMAZING! Our guide, Mike, was entertaining and energetic, and extremely knowledgeable in both the food and local history of Old Town Pasadena. The variety of locations visited represented a good mix of restaurants, specialty food shops, and local historical significance. The food stops presented a good view of the cultural food diversity that Southern California is known for, all of which had their own history and stories which were shared with our group by the owners of the stores and restaurants. No chain restaurants or common stores here - it is all family owned (one dating back to 1910). The length of the tour and the walking were just the right length. We strongly recommend this tour to foodies and those interested in the history of this unique location. If you have out of town guests and are looking to provide a fun, tasty, and informative activity, or a local who hasn't experienced Old Town Pasadena (like us), Melting Pot Tours is for you! |
