My brother and his wife and son were visiting me for Christmas, and we decided to give your tour a try...am I ever glad that we did. Barbara was extremely knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about what she does...what a sweetheart. I would definitely go on this tour again. The food was absolutely delicious, and everyone had a fantastic time. |

The instructions on where to meet and when were clear and helpful. I greatly appreciate how the tour company never cancels a tour, unless there's f a natural disaster. Finding the meeting spot was a challenge during the night sky to see the address number and the business closing down didn't make it easier. The tour guide was very nice, friendly, thoughtful, enjoyable to learn from, pleasant, personable, and listened to questions and answered well. The tour was very interesting making the 3.5 hours seem like nothing. The food amount was great. I was pretty full by the end. I was surprised there was a soap store included since this was a food tour. Actually, it was the only place I bought something. The food tour was one of my highlights during my stay in Pasadena. Thank you very much for organizing such a fun and memorable event! |

We had a group of 8 people plus the tour guide. It was not only fun to learn about the history of Passadena, but fun to learn about the individuals on the tour as we tried different ethnic foods. We were not rushed at all. Definately wear comfortable shoes. There are restrooms available at most of the stops. |

We just took the Old Town Pasadena tour. My husband and I enjoyed roaming through Pasadena's history filled streets and visiting specialty shops. Some of the food portions from the restaurants were a full meal. Make sure to go hungry. Summer our tour guide was very knowledgable and friendly. The weather was perfect and our group was fun. We highly recommend this tour! |

My husband and I had a great time hearing the history of Pasadena, tasting the various ethnic offerings, the walk in the fresh air and talking with other people in the group. It was an overall wonderful experience with our hostess, Summer, providing an additional personal touch. Our only regret was that at times we felt rushed to eat and move on. We came back home and have told several others of the wonderful tour and will give it as a Christmas gift to our son and daughter-in-law. Thank you melting pot tours! |

Her commentary was trite and poorly presented. This can be fixed: she can hook up with seasoned guides to the area and practice her commentary with a coach. Still, I wouldn't have visited Pasadena without this tour, and it was lovely to see the town and eat while I did it. |

We took the Old Pasadena Food Tour on the 27th Dec. We had read so many good reviews of it being the top thing to do in LA. So why not try it. It is sort of good. We skipped breakfast when we where under the impression that it's going to be so much food that we don't need a lunch, Wrong, if you are a normal eater you do need to eat afterwards. I think we were unlucky with the guide. Can't remember his name but we had expected a food lover that passionately would talk about food. The most he said to us was...' I like Indian food too' Not impressive. He did try to make converstion but it was heavy and he felt very uninspired by us. The best part was to actually try different kind of foods and get a bit of history. The worst part was to have to stand if front of closed restaurants and hear the guide talk about the food inside. Being from overseas (England) and leaving the day after if was very boring. The icecream place (Tutti Gelati) that was supposed to be so highly rated served a very bland chocolate and orange tasting. Good quality ice-cream is silky smooth, this one was grainy. I would change this place if I was the Melting Pot Tour.
A most disapointed part was also that no one came out from the restaurants to say hello (exept from one place, Equator), We didn't feel welcome at all. More in the way for other customers. The cake at the Aux Delices Bakery was nothing to speak about and it was very difficult to cut. The guide said that they always have trouble with it....so change the cake so we can have a nicely presented bite.
The food it self was very good at all places but was nothing magical. We loved the Tibet Nepal and the Father Nature tasting but that is of course very individual. The tour took 3 hours, that was 1 1/2 hours to long for visitors with not so much time on there hands like us. Saying that, with another guide it would problably be much better. And please let the guests try the whole range from the chocolate shop. Why couldn't we try the ones on the right hand side? Where they not so good or were they to expensive for us try???? The question lingers in the air.
