Melting Pot Food Tours

Her commentary was trite and poorly presented. This can be fixed: she can hook up with seasoned guides to the area and practice her commentary with a coach. Still, I wouldn't have visited Pasadena without this tour, and it was lovely to see the town and eat while I did it.

The Old Pasadena Tasting tour was a fun morning outing for my wife and me. We'd been to Pasadena before, but this was a new and different way of looking at the city. The tour guide, Summer, was very informative and nice. The restaurant stops along the way provided a good variety of different foods, snacks, and desserts. These are mostly family-owned restaurants. No need to have breakfast or lunch if you are taking this tour! Summer informed us about many aspects of Pasadena architecture and history. We think it was a good value, and would recommend it to our friends.

We had a great time! My family lives here and we learned so much! The tour was great for our son, too, who really enjoyed all the fun food. Wonderful tour and tour guide. Everyone was really nice.

Debra did a phenomenal job with both history and food facts, not to mention she was just a delight as a guide! Much more food than I've typically been given on food tours, and especially great variety. Clearly, much thought and planning was put into the types of cuisines and the order in which it was sampled - not to many sweets / carbs in a row. An added value was that we were able to meet and chat with many of the business owners, and were provided with some of their history, also. All in all, great tour, great value!

We enjoyed our food tour! Very fun, informative and we all left feeling full. A suggestion would be to include another option for wine tasting.

Our food tour was great and we enjoyed tasting all of the different types of food and the history of Old Pasadena. The restaurants that we went to, are places that we would not have ventured to had they not been on the tour. I would recommend this to families with older children.

Enjoyed the tour guide more than the "food" part of the tour. The tour guide was very informative, patient, and easy going.

The good: Farmer's Market. Good history. Ample parking. Pleasant guide. The not so good: The length of the tour. Not enough variety. Closed vendors. Suggestions: Cut the tour to just the Farmer's Market. Too bad Joan and the sushi joint are so far away. Have the the guide wear a remote mic and the group wear head or ear phones. No shouting necessary. Vary the food samples. Too much sweet stuff.

I was looking for something different and unique to give to my parents for Christmas. This food tour is absolutely perfect for the person(s) who have absolutely everything! Not only did my parents have a great time, but so did I. We learned about the history of Farmers Market/3rd St. and were able to sample the foods of many different restaurants and shops within. My favorite part was discovering the many restaurants/bakerys on 3rd St. We look forward to revisiting many of them in the future. Diane, our guide, was exceptional! I can't wait to check out the Pasadena Night Tour with my husband.

We had such a wonderful time on our Pasadena food tour, it was so much fun! The food was great...so many places we would have never known about....great tour guide !

My group and I enjoyed this tour very much. We have lived in Southern California our entire lives and have been to Farmer's Market but this tour was a real treat. We learned so much about the history and the merchants' life stories. The foods we sampled were fantastic. The additional stops we made along 3rd street were also interesting and the food was excellent. We all agree that we will go back to vist places we learned about on this tour. This tour is highly recommended!

Had a great time. Loved the tour. Great tour guide. Would recommed it to almost everyone. Only those who have trouble walking long distance and small childern may not enjoy. My 17 year old had a great time sampleing all the different foods

If you love food or history or celebrity spotting and your in the L.A. area, you must go on this tour. It includes all of the above, with delicious food samples ( you will NOT go hungry), interesting history and factoids of the Farmer's Market, the surrounding area and the vendors, plus, you may spot a celebrity, like we did! The tour guide is knowledgeable and patient, answering every question she could. The combination of food and history made this tour interesting from start to finish. Highly recommended!

From delectable entrees & desserts, to historical & architectural tidbits, to the scents of soap & fragrant teas, we loved our tour of Old Pasadena. Our knowledgeable and pleasant guide told us he would introduce us to independent food artists, as well as some surprises, and he was true to his word. We (including my husband and teenaged daughters) loved theMexican tortas, Chinese specialties, Opera cake, Mint-Cucumber tea, olive oil & balsamic vinegar tasting, homemade soaps that smelled soooo good, and much more. Whatever you do, don't eat breakfast! After the tour, we went out and revisited several of the places on the tour, eventually staying until late in the evening -- we had a great time!

On a quarterly basis I frequent Pasadena but I have never known about the small charming businesses that border the main streets, side streets and alleyways. Now my Pasadena shopping days have gotten longer because of the new additions to my list of favorites (stores).
