Melting Pot Food Tours

Very enjoyable tour.

I loved this tour. It completely changed my perspective of Los Angeles and the people who call this city home. It was so nice to meet such a happy, friendly and knowledgeable tour leader like Diane. The tour is a great length (about 3.5 hours) and you sample so many foods you are full by the end of it. I really enjoyed finding out about all the history and stories behind the Farmer's market and enjoying finding new places to visit on 3rd Avenue. Forget all the other tours of LA - if you are after a tour that you won't forget with a personal touch then definitely sign up for this one. I can't wait to come back to LA from Australia to revisit all the great places Diane showed us during the tour.

Really enjoyed the diversity of the tastings and other shops. The tour guide was enthusiastic and conscientious. A special asset was her ability to call us each by name.

Thought this was a unique way to experience the Fairfax District. Diane was very informative and made the walk fun. The food stops were great and it was particularly nice when we met the shop proprietors. Will highly recommend these tours to my friends and co-workers.

We really loved the Sunday morning Pasadena tour. The people were friendly, the history is so interesting and the food was Wonderful. Everything was always set up, waiting for us to arrive. Can't wait to try another tour!

We have done both the Pasadena and more recently the Farmers Farmer Tasting Tours and had a great experience. The guides are very knowledgable and friendly. We are looking forward to them offering more tasting tours they are great fun!!

As a first-timer to LA, I've heard many comments about how expensive the food can be in there, while the quality may not live up to other mega cities like NY or London. This may be the case for upscale restaurants, but definitely not after this tour in the farmer's market.

The tour guide was soft spoken, so when she turned away from our part of the group during the tour, we could not hear what she was saying. It was a lot of fun. We met a lot of nice people and new places.

While our guide Diane was very knowledgable and enthusiastic, I guess we just expected more. There was 4 of us, my Fiancee and I, and my aunt and uncle. We all thought there would be more food involved in the tastings, instead of just bites here and there. While I knew there would be alot of walking, I didnt anticipate walking all the way down 3rd st. While I am glad I went, as I had never been to Farmers Market before, I am not sure if I would go on a similiar type tour again.

I must say that I enjoyed the food tour VERY much, I have taken food tour to every location I go (San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Louisiana and Houston) to mention some and the only one that was as good as this one I took in Los Angeles given by Diane was the one from New York. I enjoyed Diane VERY much, her personality, enthusiasm and knowledge of the City, the food, the restaurants and any questions we had she answered with such enjoyment, it was a delight having her as our tour guide. I will recommend this tour from the Farmer's Market to EVERYBODY; I will do it again if I go back to Los Angeles, being Hispanic and a Foodie, I enjoy cooking and enjoy food very much and I know when it is great... I had a friend visiting So. Cal from Colorado and looked for fun things to do different from everyday "shopping and lunch" I came across the Melting Pot Tours in a Westways (auto club) magazine. I live in So Cal but this was new to me. I booked it and we spent a great Sunday morning and afternoon learning about Pasadena and enjoying great food. Our guide Summer was great. She was informative, pleasant and always answered our questions. I will definately try any other tours they have in the future. I am glad I found the advertisment!

Food is good, Kendall (our tour guide) is perfect and it's an excellent trip for me and my wife (who came to LA for the first time). I would recommend this to everyone! It's a fun and excellent trip!

I really enjoyed this tour and the tastings provided. I learned alot about the Farmer's Market and vendors that I would have not picked up going on my own. Our tour guide was excellent and friendly. We made the mistake of thinking you would get small bites of samples and ate before. We were WRONG!! So many samples to try and if in a small group you get the opportunity to have seconds. Well worth your time!

My husband and I live in England . The tour appealed to me because it combined food with sightseeing and it didn't disappoint. As well as being interesting and giving an insight into Pasadena's history, it was very informative regarding restaurants and shops. It was a good way to discover what was available in down town. We went back to two of the restaurants in the following days and would have gone to more had we had the time. The shops were great for buying gifts to take back home.
