| Loved our guide Diane! She was fabulous and extremely knowledgable. I live in Simi Valley and have never been to the Farmers Market, so this was such a treat for me. All the vendors were courteous and genuinely seemed excited about having us taste their products and hear about their establishments. I would thoroughly recommend this tasting tour to all. My only draw back to the tasting, was the amount of carbs being tasted ie cookies, donuts, bread, candy etc.... The brazillian bbq was fantastic and the chinese chicken salad from Joans was to die for. All in all a very, very nice tour....... | ||||||

| Loved it! Just enough history so that you get a feel for the place, but the emphasis is on the food and products. | ||||||

| This is the second tour I've taken with Melting Pot. Lisa is a great guide. She mixes in a little history and fun facts about the city, restaurants and owners with great food. She chooses out of the way places one may not otherwise know. I'm already looking forward to the next tour stop! | ||||||

| It's fun to find out more about your home town or one you visit a lot. If you like food this tour shows you all about some classic foods to find in LA. The tour is seamlessly set up so that you move easily from spot to spot and get just enough of a food sample to whet your appetite. | ||||||

| Really enjoyed the tour...the Farmer's Market and 3rd Street have a ton to offer, don't think I would have known about any of it unless I had seen the tour rated highly on TripAdvisor. Would recommend the tour to foodies! | ||||||

Not Worth The Money

| The event was more educational than anything else. The food which was dispensed at the various restaurants was not worth the cost of the event. I have attended others for less money that were more satisfying. The tour guide , Lisa was most knowledgeable and congenial and made the outing a pleasurable experience. | ||||||

| I have been an LA resident for almost 50 years and finally got around to going to the world famous Farmers Market. I came across the Melting Pot Food Tour on the internet and I was so glad I did. Our tour guide Diane was the best. She was very knowledgeable, gave us great insights into the Farmers Market history and because she is a chef, she gave us great food tips. It was nice meeting some of the local vendors and hearing their stories, but the highlight was the eating. We got to sample about 12 vendors wares and my wife and I were stuffed by vendor 6! One could go through the Farmers Market in 30-45 minutes, but you would miss all the history and interesting stories. Take the time to take this tour. Well paced, you learn new things and food included. Diane and her sister really care about their customers and they make sure you feel comfortable and unrushed. Definitely taking the Pasadena trip soon. Take this unique tour, you won't regret it. CDR | ||||||

| As a Pasadena area resident, I was pleasantly surprised with the Old Town Pasadena tour. We visited one of my favorite areas of Old Town, stopping at many restaurants I have wanted to check out but never have. Not only did I find some new favorites, but I learned about the history and architecture of places that I often walk and/or drive by. The tastings were well-planned and substantial (I was full at the end of the tour!), the information interesting, and the whole tour highly enjoyable. Our tour guide (Lisa) was fun and knew how to keep the tour lively and moving along without making us feel pressured. I love Melting Pot Tours! I also have been on their LA Farmers Market Tour and found it excellent as well. I'm looking forward to more tours to attend! | ||||||

| It was an excellent experience. I've spoken to multi-year natives of LA and they haven't seen as much of the area in their lives as we did in a few hours. Great time. | ||||||

| My wife and I started out by arriving 45 minutes late to the tour, so I called the number on our ticket and one of the two sisters that runs the tour answered the phone. At my request she tried to help me find the tour, like my own personal talking GPS system, and I was actually having a lot of fun trying to find the tour, ducking in and out of shops, laughing, and catching the attention of at least one security guard. But I couldn't find the tour, so even though I was having fun trying to find it, she put me on hold and called her sister Diane who promptly found me and my wife and brought us over to meet the other tour members. There were five other tour members, which I liked because it was a small enough group to get to know everyone, including Diane the tour leader. Diane is very knowledgeable about food (she's a chef) and about the history of the restaurants and the area in general. She's very friendly, a lot of fun to talk to. The tour visits a lot of restaurants, maybe 15 - 20 in total. Some are famous, some are inconspicuous, and all are unique and have VERY GOOD food! Most people probably won't have enough room to eat all the food samples if they eat before the tour, so I recommend not eating befor the tour. I recommend this tour to everyone. It's well run, the owners of the tour and all the restaurants are very friendly and a pleasure to meet, the food tastes good, and you will find some great places to eat that you might not have known about. | ||||||
