| The tour and the guide were both on point. I felt the guide should have arrived a few minutes earlier other than that I had a great time. | ||||||

| I have tried the Farmer's Market/3rd Street Food tour from Melting Pot Food Tours before and was so happy about the experience that I couldn't wait for the Pasadena tour! I love Pasadena but don't get to spend much time there. Me and a group of girlfriends joined Lisa on their VERY first customer tour of Old Town Pasadena! Lisa did a wonderful job telling stories of Pasadena's history and leading us around to some truly fantastic stores and restaurants. Mignon chocolates was divine :) There are a couple of kinks to work out, for instance many of the stores in Old Town weren't open for business during the early part of the tour, so I think Lisa and Diane are planning an evening tour! The food was great, the company was great, and I can't wait to do it again! And the Farmer's Market Tour too :D Thanks Melting Pot Food Tours for a wonderful exploration of Pasadena! | ||||||

| I took my husband on the first Pasadena Food Tour for his birthday and we just had a wonderful time! We are local to the area and it was so interesting learning about the history and architecture of Old Town Pasadena and the unique story of each individual restaurant. The tour took about 3 1/2 hours, although I think we were a bit behind schedule. Lisa, our tour guide, was charming, likable, extremely personable and full of information. The foods we tasted were full of flavor and spaced out to sustain us throughout the trip. My favorites were the chocolate Gelato, (made by a food scientist and even won a contest for Gelato in Italy!), the tortas, agua fresca, and tea tasting. My husband enjoyed the filet mignon. There were 10 tastings in total, although many other places where we stopped to learn the history or get recommendations for a place. We met great people and had a great time! I would recommend the tour to locals and tourists alike. If you are visiting the area this would be a great way to start the trip. Then, you have places to go back to for the rest of your stay (as well as local events to attend, such as summer movie nights a and knowledge about the area). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TIPS ~ - if you go in Summer, be prepared for it to be hot! It was completely bearable because there were plenty of tastings that took place inside of restaurants and some of the walk is shady. Make sure to wear sunscreen and lightweight clothing for summer months regardless. - This is a WALKING tour! Wear comfortable shoes. - Bring a pen! I wish I could have been making notes about all the history, but it didn't occur to me to bring my pen. - Do not eat breakfast!! - Do not over schedule your day (especially during the summer). The heat truly drained us and we were ready to relax after a morning of eating, walking and learning. Enjoy! I'll be posting pictures of the tour over on TripAdvisor.com | ||||||

| Melting Pot Tours has really put together a fun, informative and tasty tour of Old Pasadena by combining great history and well-chosen tasting stops in the 3 hour tour. The nine tasting stops were a perfect combination of savory and sweet, ending on a sweet chocolate note which is always a treat! The samples are just enough to fill you up, without making you feel like you over-indulged. You certainly don't need lunch after this tour, though you'll want to go back and re-visit several of the stops from the tour. This is a great value for your money. If you're looking for something fun and interesting to do on a weekend morning, check this out. I can also whole-heartedly recommend MPT's Farmer's Market tour! | ||||||

| This is our 2nd Melting Pot tour - did the Farmers Market/3rd Street one about a month ago and loved them both! Lisa and Diane do a fantastic job as hosts and guides providing architectural history of the surroundings as well as fun tidbits about the establishments we visited. It's also a plus to meet the store/restaurant owners and get to hear it all in their own words. The tastings are nicely paced - savory, savory sweet - throughout the 3 hour tour. They take you into these pockets of Los Angeles and introduce you to places and flavors you may not otherwise frequent or experience. Now they just need one for the west side or Chinatown or evenings . . . ah, the possibilities. | ||||||

| I went on the inaugural tour through Old Town Pasadena. There was a lot of food that was very tasty, and a lot of hidden places that I never would have known about without the tour. I've lived in Pasadena for some five years, and yet I'd never been to any of the places we visited. Of the places we visited I'm definitely going back to at least three of them. | ||||||

| We had a wonderful time. It was so much fun to go about the farmers market and surrounding area and taste a little bit of everything, while learning the history of the shops, restaurants and local area. I highly recommend it for all ages! | ||||||

| Our tour guide, Diane, was a perfect hostess for this event! She was knowledgeable, friendly, & thoroughly organized. The food tasting was wonderful & the group of 12 was the perfect size to get to meet people & interact. My 2 friends & I enjoyed walking through the Grove after our tour & then dining at a Greek restaurant which served delicious food. I highly recommend this tour to anyone! Looking forward to going on the new Pasadena tour in the near future!! | ||||||

| The Melting Pot Tour of Farmers Market and 3rd street was informative and fun. Diane (tour guide) was knowledgeable and entertaining. Having been raised in Los Angeles and having visited Farmers Market numerous times in the last 50 years, I was very pleased to learn the inside scoop about the site. Tastings were good and varied. I have recommended to friends and would go again. | ||||||

| My sister was visiting from out of town, and I was looking for cool walking tours when this popped up on my Yelp search. What a fantastic find! 3.5 hours of fun information and tasty samples, enough to keep you from needing breakfast beforehand or lunch afterwards. I've been to the Farmer's Market several times, and had never seen some of the places that were showcased. There's a decent amount of walking, but it's an easy pace with several stops for water and treats. Diane, a freelance chef and food stylist, was a fantastic tour guide, who obviously had great relationships with the owners/employees of all the places we visited. Great way to sample some wonderful food among the dozens, if not hundreds of food establishments, in the area! | ||||||

| We enjoyed the tour with Diane as host. There were 11 in our group. The tour moved quickly but we had enough time to enjoy many tastes and a little bit of shopping along the way. My husband and I especially enjoyed hearing all about the various Farmer's Market merchants, and getting reviews of the 3rd Ave restaurants. Diane was a great host and had planned a wonderful morning for us. I highly recommend this tour. | ||||||

| The tour was very informative. I learned a lot about the history of the Farmer's Market. The tasting stops were all really good. They mostly were places where I ordinarily wouldn't stop on my own, but the food at these places were really good. I kinda like the small samples here and there. You never get too full to try the next taste delight. By the end it all adds up though, and I felt quite well fed at the end of the tour. I think my favorite sample taste was the monkey bread. (mmm, butter). | ||||||

| We had out of town family and wanted to try something out of the ordinary, tracked down the tour online after hearing about something similar back East. We live an hour out from downtown and had only a vague impression of what the Farmers' Market was, so this was a treat, as was our guide, Diane, whom we're pretty sure is acquainted with everyone in every business establishment in the Fairfax district. | ||||||
