Boston Chinatown Market Tour

We have done the North End tour and loved that. But this was so exotic, because we were so unfamiliar with the food and the culture. Jim does a superb job.

Jim was an excellent guide--knowledgeable, personable, and entertaining. He helped my daughter and I see Chinatown as a neighborhood instead of a tourist stop. Dim sum lunch was delicious.

When we arrived at the appointed time we were so happy and surprised to see that "Jim" was to be our tour guide as he had been for our North End Tour. Jim's enthusiasm and knowledge totally won over the group right from the start. I am speaking for several of us when I say that I was apprehensive about Chinatown as it was so foreign to our thinking which is why we wanted the tour. The tour dispelled all fears as Jim's familiarity with the region and shop keepers and his knowledge of the language made it very much a learning experience for us. We all especially enjoyed the total chinese dining experience and dim sum at the conclusion of our tour. We will go back to Chinatown because Jim sort of 'broke trail' for us to be able to do that on our own. Thanks again Jim for another super experience in Boston.

This tour of Chinatown in Boston was part of a culinary tour of New England that I prepared as a thank-you gift to my husband who has been an amazing support to me during this past year and for all the years we've been together. He's a foodie and even though I'm not a particular foodie, we both learned an amazing amount of information in an entertaining and exciting way. I'd highly recommend this tour for foodies and non-foodies alike - anyone with a curious mind who finds other cultures interesting and wants to immerse themselves in other cultures in a hands-on way. New tastes, new sights, new scents and new knowledge all added up to a delightful tour led by a knowledgeable and likeable tour guide who had a good rapport with the people of Chinatown and could relate to each of the guests on the tour. Highly recommended.

Great tour guide very informative. Price was a bit high given the fact the food samples were very small during the tour and chinatown isn't a large area to cover. two bakeries a barbecue store a martial arts studio a pharmacy and a grocery store were fun to go through but the dim sum for seven people was less than fifty dollars. At seventy per person was expecting a little more.

Jim, our guide, is so knowledgeable and made the entire tour enjoyable. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

The tour was exceptionally well done. Jim, our guide, was extremely knowledgable in the history of Chinese in America, their culture and cuisine. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and would highly recommend it. Well done!

The tour was an excellent and very informative culinary and cultural exploration of Chinatown. The tour guide was very knowledgeable in all the aspects of Chinatown and he speaks Chinese. We had several samples of food at the small shops we stopped in and at the end we all had Dim Sum together. Our tour guide was able to tell us what was in all the things we were eating. I would recommend this tour to everyone.
