The tour was extremely informative and we loved our tour guide. He was very knowledgeable, personable and friendly. He was also easy to get along with and went out of his way to meet the needs of everyone on the tour while keeping pace. |

My husband and I enjoyed the tour very much. The guide, Dick, was very informative with an interesting and engaging delivery style on the history of the North End, the stores and owners we visited, other sites and sounds (and smells) in the North End -- oh, just EVERYTHING. Most importantly, we let Michele know ahead of time that my husband uses a wheelchair. Dick prepared for us ahead of time to make as many locations in this very old-world neighborhood as accessible as possible. We felt fully integrated and part of the tour in every way.
Thank you Michele and Dick! |

FAVORITE ACTIVITY IN BOSTON

Of all the activities I did while vacationing in Boston, this was my favorite (MFA was a close second). I love finding out about different foods. I wish there had been more about the wines of the region. Another suggestion would be another tour going more in depth. The tour guide we had gave just enough information in the time alloted. |

This tour presented so much information it was overwhelming...in a good way! I learned so much about history, Italian-American vs. Italian cuisine, cooking, purchasing ingredients, storing ingredients, and dining out. It's changed so much about how I view Italian food and how I shop. I live here so I can realy take advantage of the local shops. Anybody would benefit though because you can transport the knowledge and many of the stores ship if you can't find things in your own city. I could go on and on. This is well worth the money and time. So fascinating and delightful. I had been in 60% of the places we visited and I still was amazed at how much I was missing! Beth, our tour guide, was amazing. I took an out-of-town friend for her birthday. Plan on taking other guests too. HIghly recommend this tour. |

I extremely enjoyed the tour, though I came into it with only the expectations of getting information on culinary Italy and being able to try things.
I remember a few people coming and expecting a food tasting tour. It's more of an ingredient tasting tour. You get to try some meats, cheeses, vegetables, fruits, oils, but no real food-food.
We stopped at about 6 shops trying things at each place. Most were small and we couldn't go in (we had 13 people) but the guide brought things out to us to try.
The tour guide was quite informative, and as per his words, if he didn't know it, someone on the tour would. He talked about the different regions and how cooking and ingredients differed from region to region, including influences on each area.
Want and expect a 3 hour Cooking Ingredient 101 class on foot and you'll have a good time. |

My husband and 2 friends, took your tour about 10 years ago and have always wanted to do it again. Was motivated when my cousin came to MA from CA ... we had a super time. I will definitely go again and it will sooner than 10 years this time! |
