North End Market Tour

My wife and I would highly recommend the North End Market Tour. We had a terrific time learning about the history of the North End, and we now know several excellent places to shop for wine, pastries, olive oil, spices, etc. The hand-outs were great. Jim Becker was a fantastic guide given is knowledge of the history of the North End and his experience as a chef. We loved it!

The North End has always been a section of Boston with fantastic restaurants. This tour definitely gives the neighborhood a whole new personality - the mercados, wine shops, coffee shops and throw in some history and culture and now I will visit not just for the restaurants but will make a few more stops along the way.

Our tour quide was just the best....he was not just knowledgeable about the foods and the markets but all aspects of the North End. Great sense of humor too. Thanks for an extraordinary after noon.

This tour not only provided the participants with some terrific samples of the best that the North End's Italian community has to offer, via its markets, bakeries, and shops, but provided everyone with a wealth of information about the history of the area, its traditions and customs, and, of course, its foods. Fabulous Tour!!!

I enjoyed the tour so much. The guide was very knowledgeable. There was the right amount of sitting and walking/standing. I had samples of food I had never tasted before. Overall a very enjoyable day. I would recommend it to other people and would go again. Our group is thinking of taking the China town tour based on the excellent quality of the North End tour.

gave this to my husband for his birthday, I was a little hesitant but he truley enjoyed it and now wants to look into the China town tour. That part of Boston is no longer a race for your life to get accross the road. Great Time.

Our tour was much enjoyed as the operator was very informed in regard to the local region, its history and a touch of geography on Italy. We were warmly greeted by the shopkeepers and given many tasty treats along the way from cold cuts, cheese, olive oils, vinegars to yummy goodies to end our tour. We were also given many culinary tips as our tour guide was very knowledgeable in food preparation. Would love to do it again!

My In-laws were here visitng from Florida and we took them on the tour. Even so we llive just outside the city in Lexington and have eaten in the North End many times it was so interesting that we will never again look at the North End in the same.way.The walking was easy for them and the tour guide was wonderful. Beth, our guide, was wonderful. Overall the North End experience with her was informative, fun and delicious! I visited spots I've only casually passed by but now will be permanent visits every time I am in the North End. Living in Boston is faced paced. A tour like this allows you to stop and smell not only the roses but all the wonderful parts of this neigborhood. I HIGHLY recommend this tour, especially to the locals who may be overwhelmed or confused by what's available to them in the North End.

This was a great tour of the North End. I really learned a lot about the area, even though I am local and thought I knew a lot already!
