The group had a great time on this trip and would enthusiastically reccomend it to others. The one complaint was that the cost of the trip was extremely expensive and limited the number of people who signed up.

This was a wonderful tour. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. Our tour guide (Richard, I believe) was knowledgeable and entertaining. The information that was handed out on the local shops , the tour, and restaurants were extremely helpful. As was the map. We were able to go back to all of the shops after the tour. The only problem we had was as the area got busier, it also got louder and we had a hard time hearing him over the street noise. If the tour guide could wear some kind of microphone, that would help. We will be recommending this tour to others. Loved it! Loved it! Loved it!

Interesting, but uncomfortable.

The guide was excellent and informed. However, the tour route and locations were uncomfortable with lots of standing and poor accoustics. The weather is deifinately an issue and in this case the wind was relentless.

Our guide was extremely knowledgable. We learned so much about a large variety of food related items. You are on your feet for the whole time though and that was uncomfortable.

Fun and Facts on Tour of Boston 's North End

Our tour guide was extremely knowledgable about the history of the North End, as well as American-Italian and Italian cuisines. He provided handouts and mini-lectures at each shop we stopped on our 5 shop tour. I would highly recommend this tour and suggest that if you are a tourist do the tour early in your trip (not the last day, as I did.) I returned to some of the shops to purchase items to take home and to give as gifts. I had a great time!

One of the best we've ever gone on! We have been going to the NorthEnd for years--we learned about places we had never heard of, and learned alot about Italian food, and the history of the North End

What a terrific time we had meandering through the streets of the North End! Jim gave us so much information that will undoubtedly help with future preparation of Italian food at home. We were thrilled with everything he told us, from learning whether we had a male or female eggplant to finding out how balsamic vinegar is made. We also thoroughly enjoyed the historical information he shared about the North End. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

good information, but pricey!!!

My husband and I have been on other culinary walking tours and we thought that this particular one was a bit pricey for the size of samples that we got. It would have been nice to have been provided a small bottle of drinking water,to say the least. Our tour guide was a former chef, he was very knowlegeable about many of the tours products, which made it a learning experience. All in all, i think searching a bit harder for a better tour would be a good idea.
