| Do you know the difference between a male and female eggplant? Why is it important? What do you really know about balsamic vinegar. Where are the best places to visit off of Hanover Street? If you want a excellent learning experience, lots of interesting local information, and a real taste of the North End, this is the trip for you. We had a blast. We sampled vegetables, fruit, pastry, meats and cheeses and even more. I must do for anyone who lives in the area as well as touristas. Well worth the money. |

| Jim was our tour guide and he shared so much information about the history of the North End, the food, the culture. He was phenomenal, as was the tour itself. We absolutely loved the markets, bakery and wine store. We are planning a trip to Tuscanny next fall with a group of friends and Jim gave us so much helpful information for us to bring back to our group to share. The samples of food were terrific. It is amazing to find out the 'stuff' we don't know about Italian cuisine. I would take the tour again in a heartbeat!!! Thanks so much. |

| The tour was great. It combined culinary, historical, and practical information. We learned things ranging from the history of the neighborhood to how to store olive oil to the sordid history of American balsamic vinegar. We were shown shops that were non-touristy, even a market with no sign and no phone number.
I just moved to the area so now I know quality places to shop. However, tourists would enjoy the tour as well.
Delicious samples too!!! |

| My wife and I took this North End Market Tour on the advice of a friend. We only live a couple of miles away in the South End. I learned more than I expected about food, not just Italian cuisine, but food in general. We love to dine out, and now I see why certain restaurants are outstanding in their selection and quality of food. Our guide, Jim, was an ex chef who worked in, as well as owned fine restaurants The suggestions he gave will help my own shopping , cooking, and dining needs. It was a hot day, but the pace of the tour was just right and worth every penny!! Take this tour, even if you think you know the North End. |

| The only comment would be that the intro while we were sitting at the Greenway was difficult to hear due to street noise. Since the information was so interesting and set the tone for the History of the area..one would not want to miss a word. |

| I was in Boston for a conference and had a free afternoon. Since I was by myself, I wanted a group tour but was looking for something a little different than the regular tourist circuit.
Would DEFINITELY recommend to friends!!! |

| Our leader was a chef and knew a lot about food. He, also, knew a lot about the history of the area. I appreciated the guidance he gave about where to shop. We used the recipees on the web site the next night, and they were wonderful! |

| My husband and I loved both tours which we took last weekend. Jim, the tour guide both days, was well versed in the history of both the North End and Chinatown and spent a good amount of time in the beginning of each tour talking about the history of each area and summarizing what we would be seeing on the tour. We have taken the North End tour several times before and do not remember having this in depth talk and we think it's a great idea. We learned lots of facts which we did not know before. Also, Jim was very knowledgeable about the food items he discussed at each stop and was just a very energetic and upbeat guide. We highly recommend both tours and plan to spread the word among our friends! |
