North End Market Tour

Went on Michele Topor tour of Little Italy. Jim (retired Chef) was the tour guide, he was excellent. Did everything as advertised. Learned history of area and felt like a native. When we went back to the stores to purchase foods, they remembered us from the tour. I would highly recommend this to all.

Very informed leader

As a local who spends a good deal of time in the North End during the summer, this tour expanded my knowledge of this part of Boston. Our guide was very personable and knowledgeable, and although I am familiar with all the places he took us, he did have some new and interesting info about the places or their goods. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I am looking forward to taking the China Town tour next. I hope I can get the same guide.

I was experiencing severe lumbar pain and did not take tour.

Our tour guide's name was Raymond. He did a pretty good job considering he's only been doing this since the Spring. The tour was very informative! We really enjoyed ourselves. We learned a lot about the North End and Italian culture/food. We fell in love with the North End! We went back to the shops after the tour ended and shopped our hearts away. I did feel that some of the shop owners were annoyed by us being there (ahem, liquor store)--although we're potential customers and they should treat us as such. I thought there was going to be MORE food samples which I encourage them to do. Those were really the only negatives and we highly recommend!

our guide was exceptional and loaded with information about locations and also products...tastings were great. Iwould highly recommend especially to get to know a neighborhood quickly so you can go back and leisurely enjoy.

My wife and I spent labor day weekend trying to get to know Boston, but most of the time we found ourselves coming back the North End because of everything we learned on our tour. Raymond, chef from numerous Boston restaurants, took us around to introduce us to the foods and owners of the north end. He not only brought our knowledge about some of the foods we use on a daily basis to the next level, but he helped us understand how the history of the neighborhood brought those foods to us. We definately recommend this tour to any other "foodies" local or not.

It was wonderful. The guide was knowledgeable, fun and well known in the neighborhood. We visited a variety of purveyors and were rewarded with wonderful tastes and memories to last a long time. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in the history of Boston and enjoys good food. One of the best tours my group has ever taken; certainly the tastiest!!!
