The Tour of Boston's North End was a great way to spend an afternoon with friends. We learned more than we ever could on our own and picked up a lot of insider tips. |

We learned so much, and were able to shop afterwards with a better education of what to purchase. We enjoyed dining later that day. We will now visit the shops and restaurants more often and with greater knowledge and appreciation. |

Fantastic view of a vibrant, working neighborhood. |

Our tour was outstanding, and it was conducted by a former chef who had worked in the neighborhood. He understood his audience ( visitors from around the US as well as a visitor from Australia) and he really understood his food and the history and markets of the North End. It was a whirlwind of information, never boring or pedantic, and it was great fun! I would enthusiastically recommend it to anyone who wants to delve deeper into what Boston is all about. |

Jim, our tour guide, was excellent and very informative. We live an hour from Boston and visit the North End regularly. The tour provided us with lots of great info for our future visits. I can now frequent the North End of Boston in a whole new light! Thanks Jim ~ very impressive! |

Was a good afternoon, didn't like having to stand so much, (not great for the circulation) but otherwise informative. Felt slightly rushed, and crowded.... the tour ending at 5pm did not leave enough time to go back and shop (after eating dinner of course!)
Dinner at Artu was not great, actually pretty bad...wouldn't recommend it.
Food cold with no flavor...funky salad and appetizer, pasta over-cooked. Oh, well. |

Growing up in New York, in a predominately Italian neighborhood, this area brought back many fond childhood memories. The tour director was very informative not only with the history of the area but with the Italian culture and cruisine. It brought me back to a familiar place and time in my life and I returned the following day to absorb the area at a slower pace. I would highly recommend this tour as a "must see" while in the Boston area. |

Although the tour was most interesting and our guide did a wonderful job in presenting the history and background of the places and food, I have to admit being disappointed that there was not more food offered. I took a similar tour of Greenwich Village a year or so ago and it was the same idea - small samples along the way but I distinctly remember not being hungry at the end of the three hours (more shops, more samples perhaps?) I had told my companions that we would probably not need lunch immediately after the tour. On the contrary, we rushed to one of the North End restaurants for bite to eat. We were blessed with beautiful October weather and spent the rest of the day in the area, had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend the tour to others. I would, however, tell folks to plan to eat when they are through. |

I took this tour with my good friend, this past Saturday afternoon with Beth as the tour guide.
It was fantastic!, I learned so much more about the real North End and got a "hands on" experience visiting the many smaller grocerias and wine shops. Most of all, Beth was so informative and she gave us her complete knowledge of such a diverse neighborhaood and it's residents and the many establishments that cater not only to the North End residents but also to anyone who visits the North End. I also liked the free samples along the way and I learned quite a bit about Italian cooking.
Highly recommended!
