It was a great tour, we enjoyed it tremendously. We toured with a couple of adult children. Michelle was genuinely enthusiastic and incredibly informative. She provided wonderful detail, including much history of the neigborhood and rich culture. The culinary information was as practical as it was facinating. We would recommend this to any visitor to Boston.

We had a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable. Kids are 19, 17 and 14 and they all loved it.

Beyond the superficial knowledge acquired in books

This tour provided many answers to questions I have had for years and which I have never found adequately addressed in even the most thorough Italian cookbooks. My son, who is a new resident of Boston, will now be able to avail himself of products and knowledge which would be lost on the casual tourist.

Fabulous time!

Our tour guide, Jim was so knowledgeable and personable. He was great from start to finish and maintained his enthusiasm the entire three hours. He has such a passion for Italian food and culture. I had cousins visiting from NYC along with my teenage daughter and we all learned so much and thoroughly enjoyed the tour. I now know I could venture into the North End and make intelligent decisions about food and pastry selections and buy them where the natives buy them, not the tourists! The tastings brought the information to life. Just be prepared for a lot of walking and standing. Thank you!!

We enjoyed our tour and the information about the North end. It was a great way to begin our 5 days on Boston. We ate at Maria's every morning as well as frequenting Monica's and Ralph's grocery.

Let people know ahead of time some shops will not take credit cards. In that same vein maybe design the tour around the tasting and then shop. This might entice the vendor to give out more samples for the tourist to purchase then and there. I didn't have time to go back and buy that smoked provolone....ugg...but I did make it to the bakery.

Great way to get insider info on the best food/liquor stores and restaurants in the North end. As a local, I found over 100+ restaurants to choose from overwhelming. Now I know the best places to take out of town guests. We've been on many walking tours and found this one of the best.

The North End Tour was enjoyable and informative. Our tourguide was welcoming and both knowledgable and a good speaker. She gave us overview information as well as detailed information about specific food history and preparation techniques. The shopkeepers were very welcoming and at times funny. The samples were good, but a little too skimpy. Overall, it was well worth it and we thoroughly enjoyed spending time in the North End and meeting fellow foodies.

This tour is a wonderful tour! We had a great time with both the tour guide and the other people on the tour. It was interesting to hear a little of the history of the north end and then try the different samples throughout the day. The store people were also very hospitable toward us. We ended up going to one of the authentic restaurants that were listed on the sheets that were given to us after the tour and enjoyed our meal. It was a great tour and we will definately be scheduling for the Chinatown tour later on in the year! I have lived in Massachusetts all my life but have never gone to the North-end for the day, though have been to many other parts of Boston. We will certainly go back and bring our family and friends. Thank you so much!
